While I was away in Europe last month, my boy started not feeling good and losing weight rapidly. After some hurdles in the beginning, we found 2 clinics to help us and provide supportive care until we could do diagnostics and specialized testing done with the help of UF.
After weeks of this, we found out he has Exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (EPI) which has resulted in 2 nasty companions known as SIBO and B12 deficiency. Due to his pancreas not producing digestive enzymes properly he has been having complications digesting proteins and as a result has also developed lymphocytic plasmacytic enteritis (LPE) which is a form of inflammatory bowel disease.
Now with the help of a zoological veterinary nutritionist, we have not only answers, but a few trials to run until we figure out what works best for his pancreas and GI tract. Next Tuesday we'll be at UF, but until then plenty of resting and supportive care. With this new diet regiment, I can assure you that this dingo will not be eating no baby anytime soon.
