I went to the largest sand island in the world. Ever drive on a beach? I have I had my first Bogan interaction, tubes down a fresh water creek, camped, hiked, swam in two lakes and made a 21 year old German kid put me on his shoulders. The guys were extremely outnumbered by the ladies. Overall it was a pretty cool trip. -
Day#47 Victoria River-Timber Creek 91kms: Plodded up endless, gradual inclines for 70kms, then were rewarded with 20kms of mainly downhill runs to Timber Creek - which consists of a roadhouse and hotel, side by side, both offering camping and motel rooms. There's a stunning boab tree in the grounds and crocodiles in the creek at the back. Croc feeding tonight! Hope to get some pics! #timbercreek#dingos#cyclingaustralia#cairnstoperthcycle
We met our little friend climbing a cliff on Fraser Island. I thought the whole time it was a little snake. But our ranger said it is a Lizard, I could not find any small legs until today. Until I googled the lizard species on Fraser Island today, it only took me half an hour to figure it out. It’s the Burton’s Legless Lizard (Lialis burtonis, fam. Pygopodidae (Legless Lizards)) Hahahaha so it’s a lizard with no legs lol.
