Last night #GraceNatGeo started getting very nauseous. She said she was starting to have labor pains. Her husband Peter tried ringing the midwife on duty, but the phone call didn’t go through. The volunteer clinic guards, who are supposed to be at the clinic to fetch the midwife in case of an emergency, didn’t show up. So Peter walked to the midwife’s home on his own to get help.
Once Bruce, the midwife, arrived at the clinic, he examined Grace. He concluded that she was not yet in labor, but he slept at the clinic so he could continue to monitor Grace’s condition throughout the night.
Upon waking up, Grace feared that her stomach pains were due to malaria, which she has had before. But Bruce, who tested for malaria last night, told her she was negative. He says the baby will come anytime now.
