And into the forest I go,
to lose my mind,
and find my soul.
- John Muir
In order to see, we need to sit still and listen, pay attention.
Similarly, when we walk into a forest, we rarely see anything unless we sit still and wait. During our waiting, we might start to hear distinct sounds, which we wouldn't hear otherwise. We might even see a rare sight, such as a deer, or an elephant.
When observing our mind, we need to stay patient. Take your time. Meditate. Do Yoga. Run. Walk. Sail. Just take your time and observe your thoughts. Stay alert. Pay attention. If something spectacular comes to you, stay open, observe, and let go.
