Alice arrives today to begin her 3 weeks of training! "She is new and a lot to handle, but she is SMART, a quick learner and very food motivated!" - R4A
Alice is just 11 months old and was rejected from 3 different homes before coming to rescue. As a working breed, she needs mental & physical exercise and consistency in the home environment to thrive. We will bring out the very best in her and show you guys how much fun working dogs are! You can read all about Alice's new training program here: http://valork9academy.com/board-train-spokane/
“Falling down is not a failure. Failure comes when you stay where you have fallen” - Socrates
Today I was in therapy and we ended up discussing how I’m an airhead for not having my medicine situated last week. My therapist was saying how this is another time to practice being nonjudgmental, to learn from this, but continue moving forward. I couldn’t agree more. The quote above popped into my head when we were conversing. Not that I’ve reflected on what’s happened and thought I’m the worst person for not taking care of my meds ahead of time or that I’m a total failure — like I said in my previous post it was an oops moment ♀️ More so I’m thinking, if I’m really working towards a better me, it is essential that my actions match the promises I’ve made to myself Whether you’ve tripped up or fallen down, it’s merely a chance to COLLECT YOURSELF, STAND TF BACK UP, and blow even your own mind with the progress you’ve achieved. The great thing about falling down is that you only gain strength when getting up
Alsooo peach and I went to the dentist today as well He heard lots of new noises and was uncomfortable but did well. He had to sit outside of the room while X-rays were done and he stayed BEAUTIFULLY. Little dude even fell asleep while my teeth were getting cleaned — OK bud got a littlee too comfy there but who doesn’t snooze on the job every now and then? 🧐 Anyways my toofs are clean, the fog is starting to lift, I see the light people! ISSA GREAT DAY
Puppy update! This is our largest female Luci (fer) she’s a very dominant pup with a strong clear and calm grip. Great food and ball drive but not over the top. Definitely looking forward to see what she accomplishes with us. #primalcanine#protectiondog#dogtraining#packlife
Ask yourself - "what does my dog want to work for right now?". Kibble might be fine in the living-room, but you might need liver or a bunny-fur-squeaky tug if you're training in a forest full of squirrels.

Here is what one of our online students has to say:
“When I brought Gabe home I knew right away that I had more dog than I could handle. Having never trained a dog I found myself lost and my lack of experience came through loud and clear. "Basic Essential Behaviors" gave me the tools I had been looking for. I could watch the video and read the lesson plan in the comfort of my home. The online format allowed me the time I needed to become familiar with a task before introducing it to Gabe. Lynne's feedback, to questions and short video clips of our training sessions, has been absolutely priceless. Her response is both detailed and thoughtful. It gives me the confidence I need and assures we're headed in the right direction. Gabe and I are starting to connect. He's still a lot of dog but "Basic Essential Behaviors" is giving us a great foundation on which to build.
On another note, I’ve been using the "head in" to teach Gabe to accept a head halter. It's taken a month of twice a day sessions but he will put his nose in and I can clip it behind his ears without a fuss.” - Kathy Wolfe.
What's your dog's best personality trait?
Ryker's best trait is her desire to please! She literally gets joy out of doing what we ask her to do. This has made training her so much easier than any of my other dogs. What's your dog's best trait?
Collar from @modernicon1. Use PUPFLUENCE to save 5%. Check my story for more shots of her collar!
