So happy for my friend Sarah for smashing through concrete for the first time! The ability to break concrete means that you can generate the force needed to snap the bones of those who would try to harm you. It is a fun skill to practice and this was her first time ever trying it! Great job! #DojoLife#DojoMartialArts#ImagineWhatYouCanDo
Two man attacks are important techniques to practice. Even as a beginner student we can take our basic techniques and incorporate them in practical use!
Today was a fun day at masters in motion. We started off with belt ceremony. So everyone that test last sat and passed got promoted today. We also had a workshop for the kids and then one for the adults right after. We are now on a 3 week break (sad) but thankfully the dojo will be open once a week so we can still practice. I received 9th kyu in kenjutsu (samurai sword) I started practicing a couple a sessions and it’s been a lot of fun. It’s a new class we have. It’s exciting to start something new. I am really loving it so far!!!! If you’re looking for something new to try this is a fun class to pick up. You don’t need any experience.
We’ve talked about a young persons' community in school and in their clubs/activities and peer groups, it’s now time to talk about their home community, or what we like to call “The Home Dojo”
During this trip I have had the pleasure of meeting and training with so many new friends and karate-ka. Both from our club #gkrkarate and from all sorts of styles and martial arts. There is an old Okinawan saying 'once we have met we are family' I think it's so apt from this experience in Okinawa 2018. @world.of.ajv
