💥Parenting Advise Needed 💥
Active rest day meant foam rolling and walking the dog....actually I mean "torture" for my 10 year old. Let me explain... After church today Tim went to work which meant I was home with the boys and the dog. It was nice outside so after lunch we decided we were going to play outside. While Gauge was eating lunch, Trenton kept getting impatient and pestering me and complaining about EVERYTHING! I asked him to stop and he kept complaining more and more and MORE. So I figured out a plan before losing my cool.
We put our shoes on, grabbed the dog leash and the jogger and went for a walk. Immediately Trenton started complaining...again. So I told him for every complaint, we would continue walking until I heard complaints no more. After 2 1/4 miles (pushing the jogger because he didn't want to walk the dog) he finally stopped. So we turned around and went home. After a 4.5 mile walk we arrived home and he was all smiles. We played in the snow, jumped on the trampoline and rode scooters. He's been excellent since. I think it's safe to say he learned his lesson.
Are all tweens so difficult? Moody and fresh already!? And it's really just with me, not so much Tim. How do you divert the negativity and bickering? I need some. Advise!! Parenting is SO HARD! Always learning, ever changing! #helpme #adviseplease
