Here in Texas, many are concerned, frustrated, angry and utterly heartbroken with what's occurring at the US-Mexico border. I continuously think about children being torn away from their parents and being sent to child holding camps. Honestly, I'm in a temporary state of despair; Children don't deserve to grow up in a world like this.
Birnel made a good point, closed borders are not truly closed. It simply makes the journey for those fleeing even more dangerous by forcing people to find alternate, unsafe means of entry.
Today, 45 referenced San Antonio as a city where walls work. There is no fucking wall here. He also proposed a deal to extend DACA and TPS for three years in exchange for 5.7bn to build the wall at the US-Mexico border. Democrats have since rejected the proposal. Hence, the government shutdown continues.
