Pls ignore the poor quality pic. My lunch plate - sweet potato parathas and curd sprinkled with chaat masala.
The main point of sharing this is to pen down my thoughts on going vegan. The curd you see is peanut curd that I sourced from @good.mylk
For the last few months, I've been trying to go vegan. I'm a vegetarian since childhood, so the only thing I need to stop is dairy products. To be honest, it is such a big challenge for me. I can easily stay away from butter, cheese and paneer. My weakness is my 2 cups of Indian masala chai and curd that I love to have every single day. Having grown up with a staple of curd rice and tea being my comfort beverage, it is hard to let go of the two, though I understand the benefits of becoming a vegan.
I tried to replace my morning chai with green tea a few days but I ended up with headache. So I decided to replace dairy curd with peanut curd as a first step.
The taste is quite similar but does have a distinct flavour of peanuts. I'm OK with it and hoping to get used to the flavour soon.
If you are a vegan, please share productive advice on how to cross these last few barriers.
