Lima / Fitzrovia / Good for: LUNCH or DINNER (ceviche)
Ceviche is the perfect light and refreshing dinner for those warm summer evenings, and I forgot just how good Lima are at it So good they were awarded a Michelin star for their Peruvian fare So naturally I turned up in my "activewear" after a workout. On a Monday night. Oops ♀️ Luckily we managed to snag one of the few tables on the terrace overlooking Rathbone Place and leading onto Charlotte Street, a great place to soak up the atmosphere, and people watch at the same time. We went 100% snacks and cold ceviche.. the polenta cracker with burrata and sweetcorn was AMAZING, and the prawn polenta cracker with avacado a close second. In terms of ceviche, the sea bream and beef tiradito were my favourites. But seriously, it's all really, really good! The @shochu_ldn or Charlotte Street Hotel are brilliant for an aperitif. And afterwards there's always @bourneandhollingsworth@londoncocktailclub or @revjwsimpson. Cheers to that

Fantastic press dinner last night at @bobbobricard trying @echavot's terrific new #vegan dishes. Eric's created a whole selection of starters, mains, sides and desserts which take their place on the à la carte menu, the idea being that these are dishes everyone will want to order, regardless of diet. This main of pearl barley kasha with pickled mushrooms was so luxuriously creamy it was hard to believe it contains no meat stock or dairy. Truffled potato vareniki were a sumptuous starter and rice pudding with Panama rum & mango sorbet my decadent dessert. Genius stuff from the guys at @koyalondon super intense crispy flavour, like the best bacon ever, with a teramiso and bonito paste underneath, add some spices and boom! Flavour bomb! I very rarely call things amazing but I absolutely loved it!
I feel like I’m cheating on @islandpokeuk whenever I eat poké somewhere else, but the Heat Wave bowl from @ahipokelondon was pretty good It’s a tasty combo of salmon, smashed avocado, red onion and kimchi cucumber Instead of rice, the base is quinoa - which makes it feel healthy despite being covered in sriracha mayo Next time, I’d definitely go for the smaller portion as there’s way too much quinoa for the amount of salmon in there. But otherwise, it’s a yummy and refreshing lunch (albeit a bit pricey) during this summer that just keeps on giving! .

Last time, @LukesRobinson (pictured) made some absinthe using the plants in St Mary's garden), and @jurgism paired up the 'London Honey' from the bees buzzing around our heads at St Mary's, with a Jenga-style stack of Westcombe Cheddar. We also used rhubarb for our margaritas sourced from @mrlyan's sister's garden - thanks @natashacheti! ⠀
