The Problem With Having A Weight Loss Goal
Whilst it's good to have goals to work towards, a weight loss goal can be a bit black and white- you either achieve it or you don't, and if you do achieve it, are the results sustainable? Reaching a weight loss goal can feel great, but many diets don't really require you to change your underlying eating habits, they just encourage you to eat less until you get to goal, making it easy to go back to your old ways once you've lost weight. For successful long-term weight management, the key is to focus on tackling problematic eating behaviours that can lead to weight problems in the first place. If you focus on eating behaviour progress, not just weight loss progress, you're more likely to achieve sustainable results.

Eating well is not a quest towards perfection.⠀

What you eat matters when you are pushing yourself physically for sport. Your pre-workout meal, your hydration, your recovery. They are all important and can impact how you feel and perform. They can make or break your race.⠀

Need to be honest here guys: although I sometimes use gluten free flour for my goodies, Almond Flour was never my go to. No specific reason, just practicality.
Today I found a bag of roasted almonds sitting on my pantry and used the blender to transform it into almond flour and make delicious bliss balls for snacks. If you have soft almonds in your pantry, give almond flour a try! No food waste ♻️

ps.: don’t blend the almonds for too long if your intention isn’t homemaking your own almond spread! 😅

I get messages from you guys who are struggling with binge eating, and I am so so with you. I am recovering from it too (I’d say 85% recovered) and I know exactly what you’re going through. But you have to remember that binge eating disorder is an EMOTIONAL disorder - it’s not to do with the food. It’s to do with your mind

When do you binge? What emotions do you feel before you binge? Is it triggered by certain feelings?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If your struggling with eating (in any way), you must be going through some difficult issues in your life which your body is expressing through disordered eating

I implore you to look deeper and find what’s hurting you

All habits begin with a 'cue' or 'trigger'⠀
•⠀
The cue can be a number of things, from seeing something (visual cue 🍫) to being in a certain place (location cue 🏠), and also feeling a particular way (emotional cue ☹️/😊/😐/😤).
That cue then sparks an urge - the chemical desire to perform an action or behaviour.⠀

If the cued behaviour leads to a reward (a positive feeling/positive chemical changes in your body), the brain remembers and the behaviour is reinforced, making the habit more likely to occur when it is cued again.⠀
Cue -> Urge -> Behaviour -> Reward
•⠀
Emotions are a strong cue for habits. When you feel a particular emotion, the habits that you've performed in the past get triggered again.
•⠀
For many people that struggle with overeating and weight problems, that habit is often eating. Food is a simple way to create a positive chemical change in your body (sugar/fat/salt - the brain is wired to love these!)
•⠀
Happy and proud at achieving something? Let's eat and feel even better!!
Anxious and nervous? Food will help me relax
Bored? Might as well eat.
Sad? Food will make me feel better.

It's been a few months now that hubby and I are seriously becoming more aware of our plastic usage and weekly waste. As both of us were raised with environmental-friendly habits, we didn't have a high plastic usage nor waste but there's always improvements that can be done.

When we decided to be more plastic conscious, we started looking for ways to bring produce home without needing plastic bags. Something we saw at that time was the reusable produce bags - handy and eco-friendly - that can help you a lot if you're trying to reduce plastic usage as well. Or you can use cardboard boxes to do your grocery as well!

There are many ways to avoid plastic usage, we just need a bit of commitment and creativity!

El amor es fácil.
No lo creía, la realidad es que esto del noviazgo, citas no era para nada de mi interés ni mucho menos mi fuerte 🤦🏻‍♀️. Hasta qué pasó me enamore, ESPÉRATE termina de leer no es tan obvio este post, y me fue terriblemente mal, MUY MAL.
Ya que la otra persona pos no no estaba enamorada de mi. Y aunque lo entendí rápido, digo al menos me lo dijeron en fa, desprenderme y soltar fue lo más doloroso que me ha pasado, tanto así que el día 31 de Diciembre del 2016 fui la persona más feliz de haber concluido ese año 😅. Pasó el tiempo trabaje mucho en mi, muchísimo y hasta que tuve un poquitito de claridad lo encontré y más que nada me lo permití, me permití amarlo a él. “The boyfriend” ... estaba tan escondido en mi rutina semanal que apenas podía verlo pero si podía sentirlo, AHÍ ESTUVO LO FÁCIL, ya que el amor no es como te lo pintan, el amor se trabaja y fluye muy fácilmente. Te desequilibra en su calma y te lleva de la mano hacia tus cuevas.

Mi novio indaga cada detalle, cada silencio, cada risa y no se le escapa ninguna carencia, me hace más fuerte y me hace levantarme, pero eso yo lo hago el solo me acompaña. La verdad es que NUTRE mis días con ese orden y paciencia sobrenaturales y es que #mujeres 🤣. Créelo o no, pero te alimentas y te permites nutrir en más de una manera, pregúntate, reflexiona más, analiza mejor #quiencaminacontigo ?

Te confieso que soy #workalcoholic en muy mal plan 🙈, mis niveles de autoexigencia no deberían tenerlos nadie pero sorpresa si que habemos muchos que somos así.
Recuerdas el post anterior? Aquel donde establezco la analogía del envase=cuerpo... bueno seguiré en esa rama. Quieres metas para ti ser y transformarte en un nuevo envase, para lograrlo lo primero que piensas es que me falta para...? Entonces comienzas a llenar esa carencia con el objeto que asumes es lo que falta, listo lo adquieres. Sigues buscando y buscando los huecos de tu envase ya que sigues sintiéndote incompleto incompetente, insatisfecho bla bla(🤦🏻‍♀️ válgame no tenemos llenadera)... solo déjame decirte que tu envase ya está lleno, que la carencia SIGUE y que si continúas en automático, no considero logres lo que necesitas 💔

- głód pojawia się w brzuchu, a nie w głowie, czujemy ssanie w żołądku

- zaspokojenie następuje świadomie
- jemy tyle aby odzyskać energię - nie ma związku z emocjami 🍫Głód emocjonalny:
- występuje epizodycznie i nieregularnie
- przychodzi nagle, pomimo zjedzonego posiłku - czujesz, że musi być zaspokojony natychmiast
- często odbywa się w tajemnicy i samotności
- charakteryzuje się jedzeniem pokarmów wysokoenergetycznych lub bogatych w węglowodany proste, czyli np. słodycze oraz chęcią zjedzenia konkretnych produktów

Satu hal yang saya pelajari setelah jadi orangtua beranak satu adalah tidak ada yang abadi, semua hanyalah fase.
Anak susah makan? Tenang Parents, itu hanyalah fase. Mungkin pada beberapa anak, fasenya lebih lama daripada yang lain.
Sekarang fase yang sedang saya alami adalah menghadapi anak "picky eating". Padahal baru sekitar dua bulan yang lalu saya mensyukuri bahwa si bocah tak pilih-pilih makanan. Semua makanan yang saya kasih akan diterima, meski porsi makannya belum sebanyak yang saya harapkan. Eh, menjelang 17 bulan, kok tiba-tiba jadi pilah pilih. Kok makanan yang dulu dia doyan banget sekarang ditolak mentah-mentah. Kok jadi suka makan sayur padahal sebelumnya biasa aja?
Saya sempat syok, tapi menurut beberapa refensi bacaan, anak bertumbuh semakin independen. Artinya, anak semakin bisa menunjukkan mana yang dia mau atau tidak. Tidak perlu khawatir atau kesal. Justru beri dia kebebasan lebih lagi. Kalau selama ini semuanya diputuskan orangtua, ganti metode dengan menawarkan pilihan, mulai dari menu makan, baju yang akan dipakai, buku yang mau dibaca, atau yang lainnya. Anak akan merasa keputusannya dihargai. Lagipula, siapa juga yang mau semua-muanya diatur orang lain? Ya ngga?

Post elecciones y pre futbol 😥
Definitivamente ha sido un fin de semana agotador.
Pero ya es inicio de semana y hay que #darle 👊🏻 El miedo.
Consideró ser una persona que vive con miedo, y ojo no me gustaría que asumes que soy miedosa, no realmente no me refiero a eso. El miedo es nuestra alerta de supervivencia, su mecanismo (consciente o no) está elaborado de todo aquello que alguna vez aprendiste. Puede surgir del displacer que produce algo/alguien en tu entorno o incluso de lo desconocido. Y aquí, AQUÍ, es donde me gustaría ayudarte, recuerda que lo que viviste alguna vez no es absolutamente real sino más bien experiencia de tu yo pasado, eso quiere decir que es información usada para que tú decidas la acción o la no acción. Sin embargo, elegir atraves de algo del pasado sin reflexionar ni realizar una te evaluación limita tu aprendizaje y crecimiento.
Para decidir mejor reflexiona re analiza, asesórate y renuévate.
Todas tus conductas son medibles e indican tus movimientos más cercanos a tu alma...
La conducta alimentaria (tus elecciones acerca de que alimentos elegir) te da un vistazo de un panorama interno más amplio.

Feeling peckish? hungry? marvin? how ever you like to call your hunger, when you're next feeling hungry⠀

Ask yourself this....⠀

Would I eat broccoli right now?⠀

if the answer's yes, then it more than likely is physical hunger. However, if the answer's no, you're experiencing emotional hunger.⠀

Spotting the signs of emotional eating....⠀

🤐 You fancy a certain type of food ... sweets/ crisps/ savoury⠀
🤐 There's usually a shift in mood before you get that craving (maybe something happens to you and your demeanour changes)⠀
🤐 The hunger happens quickly. Almost like an URGENT hunger.⠀
🤐 You eat to the point of feeling uncomfortable - sick, bloated⠀
🤐You feel emotional afterwards - experience feelings of guilt, disgust, shame⠀
🤐 You don't recall how the food tasted afterwards (usually with emotional eating, we go on automatic pilot and don't actually appreciate or notice the taste)⠀

It is many years since I craved sweet treats but once in a rare while I indulge. I always make it feel special by using a pretty little bowl. I notice my almost teenage daughter does exactly the same with maybe a few squares of chocolate, an occasional dessert or even some chips/crisps. By eating more mindfully and really savouring the experience you create a special ritual around these occasional foods. How many of us have scoffed a whole chocolate bar or a whole packet of chips/crisps to only wonder where they all went😘? Studies confirm that family food culture and traditions are passed down from parents to their children and shape future eating behaviours including self regulation. Le sane abitudini sviluppate da bambino riescono a rimanere da adulti.
Grazie all'autosvezzamento il bambino sa cosa mangiare e quanto mangiare, in base al proprio appetito. Il bambino che conosce il cibo in questo modo non eccede con il cibo, sa regolarsi.
E quale meglio modo per contrastare l'obesità❓❕

Emotional eating✨According to a new UCL-led study emotional eating in childhood is learned at home, kindergarten or school - not inherited.

The study explains further that „experiencing stress and negative emotions can have a different effect on appetite for different people. Some crave their favourite snack, whereas others lose their desire to eat altogether when feeling stressed or sad. Quando comecei a almoçar nos restaurantes perto do trabalho, sempre que tinha comida japonesa entre as opções eu pegava. Apesar deu adorar comida japonesa, não tenho o costume de comer com muita frequência e por isso, toda vez que ia fazer meu prato eu olhava para o sushi e pensava: "Nossa vou aproveitar isso aqui porque não sei quando vou voltar a comer". .
Com o passar das semanas, a comida japonesa parou de ser algo raro e eu notei que às vezes nem tinha tanta vontade de comer, mas acabava pegando nem que fosse um único sushi. Então com o tempo eu percebi que na verdade eu não queria comer comida japonesa, mas continua pegando somente por achar que não comeria aquilo de novo tão cedo. Hoje a comida japonesa voltou a ser algo que como esporadicamente.
.
Essa história ilustrar o que acontece quando excluímos um alimento por conta de uma dieta. A restrição (mesmo que no caso fosse relacionado a disponibilidade) fazia com que o sushi se tornasse muito mais atrativo!
.
Ao restringir um alimento a gente acaba colocando-o em um pedestal. E a nossa vontade de comer aquele alimento se torna muito maior do que realmente seria se tivéssemos a consciência de que podemos come-lo em outros momentos.
.
Ou seja, pode ser que aquela sua vontade louca e incontrolável de querer tomar um refrigerante, tenha mais a ver com o julgamento de "saber que não deveria" e de já ter restringido esta bebida em outros momentos, do que ser de fato uma vontade genuína do seu corpo.
.
Não estou dizendo para todo mundo sair tomando refrigerante adoidado, rs. Mas que é importante pensar sobre o que nos leva a querer determinados alimentos e como a mentalidade de dieta pode, por si só, influenciar o que comemos.
