Should you be concerned about the sexual history of your olive oil?

When an olive oil is referred to as “extra virgin” it means this olive oil is purely cold pressed olive oil (the best) and not a mixture of both (not so great). So yeah, it’s kind of important.

So the next question usually is, what’s the best oil to cook with?
The perfect cooking oil has two things: a nice fat profile (ie. high in monounsaturated and/or polyunsaturated fats and low in saturated fat) and a high smoke point. An oil's smoke point is the point at which it starts to smoke (who would've guessed hey). When an oil smokes, bad things happen and it loses its health benefits (and can even have negative effects), so the higher the oil’s smoke point, the better it is to cook with.
Extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) ticks both boxes. With a high smoke point and lots of monounsaturated fats, it should be your go to oil for pretty much any occasion.
I used to buy whatever Australian EVOO I could grab first, until I picked up this. I never thought olive oil actually had a taste, but the @cobramestate ‘Robust' olive oil (the one pictured) levels up every salad dressing it's added too. Do yourself a favour and give it a try.

OK great if you have the time to weigh out your food all day and MARCO count everything you put in your mouth, but realistically this isn’t so easy for everyone so using your hand as a measuring guide is a great way to portion control your plate and stop you over eating 🍽 .

This dish is cheap,healthy and easy. I may have said this before but I am not 'frugal' in nature, probably the complete opposite. I realised that if I dont prepare for the week ahead - money is flown around like crazy! 60 there, 100 there and by lord does it add up! So if we plan our food including eating out on weekends we can save substantially. Eating healthy,real food can be for any budget. Its just planning! Here is a super delicious Jamaican rice dish (thats smoked tofu marinated in smoked spices) that yoyo destroyed. The dish seriously take 20 minutes! Protein loaded kidney beans ( vital for growth and development and a great source of iron). Brown rice, fried onions and garlic in olive oil, spring onions, corriandar and spicy tofu (suitable for blw) Add meat if you want or chilli. Its bloody divine and all of 10 dollars!

A major upside to a mellow weekend is coming home from work to a fully stocked fridge prepped and ready to go for the week ✨ popped🥕🥒 in the oven, tossed tofu with balsamic vinegar in pan, cooked a pot of quinoa pasta, topped with vegan kale pesto and called it a night! As you can see, my dinners are often far from gourmet. Most nights I don’t have a lot of time to spare, so I strive for simplicity, balance, and most importantly to honor my cravings. An easy recipe for a HUMMUS is the basis of many other dips I make on a daily basis. At my place we like a beetroot hummus with miso and one of my personal favorites is this chocolate hummus. Chocolate hummus may sound weird but it’s my replacement for Nutella. I think it’s even more delicious than Nutella and much better for your health. Therefore I challenge you to try it out!
