Headed out to Thrift for the day. It's been awhile since I did a BIG thrift day. The past 4 months have really shown me that its SO important to have diversity in how you source goods. You never know what the universe is going to throw at you. What happens if you can't get out to source, what happens if your major source goes out of business, moves or dries up for that matter? There are other options out there and it's always good to have a backup plan - be prepared. Today was meh … wasn't horrible...but wasn't a lot of stock and a lot of other resellers shopping so I didn't get as much as I would have liked, but I wasn't too stressed as I'm off tomorrow morning to pick up a car load of fantastic inventory from another sourcing option I've been using. Diversity isn't just about platforms, but other aspects of your business as well. I'll have a few of todays finds up later tonight .
Have this GREAT Lot of 20 different Flames of War rule / supplement books up locally. Been using local channels for some of the bulkier and heavier items in my inventory. I had some great luck and sales in the late summer / early fall with Facebook Marketplace (and one of the reasons I kept facebook into the fall), but then fell out of love with Marketplace - too many people not responding, Low ball offers, people not showing up for meet ups and people wanting you to drive to THEM for meet ups. No Thank You. Time is money and all the wasted time just doesn't make it worth my while most of the time. This lot is worth it to me - and for the most part the table top gamers I've dealt with are serious when they inquire and do meet ups. You have to evaluate each situation and see what works for you and your business. If you're interested in this lot feel free to send me a DM - will ship at buyers cost within Canada and will do local meet up in the Perth, Smiths Falls, Carleton Place Ottawa Area. You can check Kijiji Ottawa for the add and ALL The books. https://www.kijiji.ca/v-toys-games/ottawa/battlefront-flames-of-war-20-rule-supplement-book-lot/1381789410?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true
My sales generally drop off over the next week while people get ready for Christmas, So I dive in head first with EXTRA listing as I always see an upswing again starting Christmas Eve into January as people get gifts of money and start buying items they wanted, but didn't get over the holidays. Found a bin of clothes that had collected over the past couple months as I was heavy into listing hard goods (vintage Tommy, Lee Jeans, Wrangler, North Face, Robert Graham, ect) that I want to get up and out (the will be priced to sell quick) as I try to get all my unlisted items up by the end of the year. Once things slow down mid January I'll be going though all my inventory and slimming down to make some changes for 2019 - including how much and type of inventory I'll be keeping. Now things have calmed down a bit in my personal life I'm hoping to share more of my business, reseller tips with myself with you in 2019 . What changes are you making to your business for 2019?
