I'm always impressed with the consistent level of shine on these things. Also, this one is wearing Z-rated rubber. Incidentally, would you like to know some facts about hearses I once learned from a local funeral director?
1. A new Merc E-Class hearse costs at least £120,000.
2. There are only two coach builders in the whole of England that do hearses, and both are in Wigan (apparently on the same industrial estate, even).
3. Funeral directors lose loads of money on hearses, because after the typical 5-6 years of service, the hearse dealers will only give them about £5k in trade-in. And you can’t do much better privately because buyers know this.
4. Despite the height (newer ones are much more streamlined, of course), hearses handle pretty well, owing to a low centre of gravity because of the way the coffin platform is built into the car
