Getting to do what I love is incredible but, it is extremely stressful. Shedding light on creative courses like mine - you don’t only work because you have to, you work because you want to. It’s stressful, it’s hard and in all honesty, it’s emotional as hell. If something isn’t turning out the way you want it’s really upsetting and frustrating. Courses like this are not appreciated enough - the hard work, passion and TIME that goes in. So much time. I’ve spent days, literally days, editing my video for my graded unit and that’s got me 4.5 minutes so far. It takes time, it’s making me sick and I’ve cried a lot.
I appreciate all courses and everyone works hard. I just feel as though the creative industries get a bad rep for being ‘easy’ or ‘not really a true course’. The thing I argue is - what are you likely to do when you get home tonight? Watch Netflix? Yeah well, media people created and run that. Im not saying all people think negatively of courses like mine, but I definitely notice a stigma!
On a lighter note, I’m immensely proud of my class - they have SO much talent, creativity and passion. For anyone doing a creative course and worrying about your work - it will be more amazing than you realise. You may not see that yourself, but trust me others do. Keep working hard but remember to relax too, it’s just as important. •
