LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT THIS STOOL...
It’s been in my family since the early ‘80s (clearly). It belonged to my grandmother, Duck (yes, that was her name). For years, in Duck’s home, then handed down in my mother’s home, then handed down in my home, this stool has been used to aid little children to get high enough to wash their hands in the powder room (southern word for “downstairs bathroom”...drop the “r” off “powder” if you want to pronounce it correctly).
This week in my home, this almost 40 year old stool just got promoted. No longer is it used for washing hands, but for washing hearts. It is officially my PRAYER STOOL.
This morning I had the blessing of sharing my prayer stool and what I do with it to a group of moms at Crossroads Community Church.
I place this stool in the hallway outside one of my children’s rooms to remind me that every time I walk by it, I must stop and bathe that child in prayer. Can I just tell you— I have prayed for my kids more in the last week than I have over the last year.
WE, ARE DIVINELY CALLED AS MOMS TO HOLD OUT GOD’S TRUTH AMIDST OUR OWN PEOPLE...our kids.
WHO GOD CALLS, GOD EQUIPS.
He’s done it throughout history; He’ll continue to do it through us moms.
TO ALL THE MOMS OUT THERE:
Never stop calling your mind to God’s power in your home, saying to yourself and to your kids all the goodness of Who God is, and waiting for God to show up and be your family’s PORTION [inheritance, security, legacy, treasure].
Thank you @ang_kay79 for partnering with me in holding out truth.
