P My eldest daughter turned 16 a few days ago & is having a sleepover tonight with 9 other friends!
On the menu for dinner was homemade pizza, I just have everything on the table & they all create their own, it’s an easy way to feed a group & you know they are all going to enjoy a pizza they like. They use to take a while to cook as my old oven could only fit in two pizzas at a time but ‘Mabel’ my new(ish) gorgeous Belling made it l loads faster cooking four at a time.
The birthday cake went against pretty much everything I allow them to eat on a daily basic!!! My 7 1/2 yr old twins reactions as I decorated it was pretty funny .... ooohs & ahhhhs everywhere!!!!! They are settling down to watch all the High School Musicals, waiting for another friend to arrive to cut the cake & I’m (kind of) hiding away in my bedroom .... I must say, their laughter is wonderful to listen to, I love that sound in my home.

I did not eat well yesterday. Wayyy too many processed carbs for my body. Today I ate cleaner, upped my water intake and busted out 30 minutes of cardio. It isn't much but I did what I could to dominate this day. What I'm really proud of is turning down pizza. I had a Thrive Pro bar instead. Now that is commitment 😂

I used @bulletproof #collagelatin instead of gelatin in mine. It took a little more of it to get the perfect gummy bear consistency but it provides some extra amino acids. For folks like me who have connective tissue disorders, having some extra (balanced) amino acids in your diet doesn’t hurt.

Getting to the Gym is not the hard part about weight management, (not always about loss) it's the emotional eating.
When I'm stressed, upset, or even excited , it's hard not to turn to that burger, that pizza or the junk!!! It's where my weight gain has come from the last year.

It’s been FOUR DAYS since I’ve been to the gym or had a workout anywhere. ——————————————-
Wtf am I doing??? I’m giving my body time to rest is what I’m doing. About a year and a half ago I came to terms with not being able to workout every day. I’m lucky to workout every other day. At a certain point you just have to ask yourself if resting is what you really need right now. Plus I do HIIT circuits so I’m still technically burning energy from my workout for up to 2 days AFTER my workout. ——————————————-
That being said, I probably won’t have time for a workout tomorrow so I might end up pulling a late night @jacobsladderexercise circuit before it’s all said and done with. There’s rest and then there’s straight laziness. .

Happy Birthday to my eldest daughter who turned 16 today! (in 10minutes actually if we are going by the time she was born!) .... in many ways it feels like only yesterday that I was holding her for the first time and wondering what it was going to be like to be a Mum, after dreaming about it for so long (my four children are IVF babies). Tonight we had a lovely dinner with 6 adults, 4 teenagers & 4 kids. To make it nice & casual we had a “taco train” self serve for dinner, perfect when there are a few people to feed. Tacos, wraps, rolls, chicken, mince & loads of salad options. For her cake she requested Pavlova & so I made one for maybe the third time in my life and as always, cracked the top when trying to remove it from the tray! Lucky it got covered over with cream & fruit ..... if you are wondering about the cucumber, it was simply there to freak her out for a moment as she is a tad OCD with things like that 😉

I read a really interesting article by @brad_beer about the benefits of running 80% of your training at a pace at which you can hold a conversation. Being relatively new to running, running slowly is SUCH a challenge because I'm so excited that every week my pace on runs less than 5km has been getting faster! This evening I set out to run the Bay at a really easy pace so that I'd feel like I had a few kms left in my legs when I reached 7km. Success! Also have been doing daily single leg bridges which I think is paying off 💪

something that needs to be said, because it has come up a few times recently. .
i’m not “skinny” because i’m allergic to gluten and dairy and have had to cut them out of my diet. i am “skinny” because i’ve worked my ass off to get to where i am. i follow a meal plan (about 90% of the time.. i recently discovered non-dairy Ben& Jerry’s.. 😍🤤). i workout at LEAST 4 times a week (thank you Liift4💪🏼). i don’t drink daily, or even weekly, but i do indulge sometimes. .
well.. PSA: you can loose weight / get fit too! you just have to freakin’ want it. you CAN’T eat leftover pizza for breakfast, eat shit snacks all day, eat desert for dinner, drink every night and not workout and expect to loose weight. you CAN do that every so often when you want to. i’m not saying you can only eat rabbit food or have to starve yourself, but you might have to cut some indulgences temporarily and get your ass off the couch and working out to see results. .
stop trying to make me feel bad for how far i’ve come. it’s absolutely bullshit. i’m where i am because i’ve worked my freakin’ ass off to get here.

🔹Consume iron rich foods (spinach, beetroot, wholegrains).
🔹Include foods rich in vitamin C (Citrus fruits).
🔹Avoid fatty foods for atleast 24 hours prior.
🔹Have a healthy meal prior donating blood (avoid empty stomach!).
