Let's get to it!!! 3/5 :This is a long one that requires much explanation so please stay with me! Now looking at the top 3 men...#biggamesjames aka The Silent Assassin clocks in at #1 for me due to unfortunate circumstances surrounding #elginbaylor While Baylor was no doubt the more dominant scorer, #jamesworthy edges him on my list with Elgin never being able to get over that Celtic hump, and the fact that the team began their record 33-game winning streak the very next game after Baylor announced his retirement 9 games into the season due to injuries; eventually winning the title that year. Baylor's ring was awarded to him in honorary purposes, with him not being an active member of the roster. #jamaalwilkes aka Silk (that's how smooth his jumper was) is in at 3 with the "20 foot layup", the nickname given for his wind up shot that was as automatic as a "layup" #mettaworldpeace clinched a #championship over the #celtics in a #game7 ...enough said. #RickFox makes the list with his toughness and dirty work over the 3-peat era. #cedricceballos takes 6 for coming in and being a guy that could get 20 pts when the Lakers hadn't had a guy that could in years lol..and a memorable 50 point outburst! B.I. breaks the top 10 as only a couple of the guys before him have ever eclipsed 16 ppg...then add at age 20, being a cpl years away from his prime. As far as #theking #LebronJames goes...he DOES NOT crack my top 10! At least until the season tips off! Cmon guys..he's gotta hit the floor first ok! BUT..IF #Lebron resurrects the franchise and leads us back into a deep playoff run...that'll be enough for him to crack this list and boot someone off! #lakeshow #lakersnation #losangeles #losangeleslakers #lakersallday #lakergang #lakersforlife

During the talk of the Greatest Small Forwards ever, you know David had to talk about his favorite player, Paul Pierce. After all, that conversation a few weeks ago is what prompted this mini-series!

Lamar takes his shots, nearly causing a scuffle LOL

🏀💛💜 #losangeleslakers #lakers #lakersnation #lakeshow #lakers4life #kobebryant #shaquilleoneal #paugasol #derekfisher #kareemabduljabbar #wiltchamberlain #elginbaylor #jerrywest #magicjohnson #jamesworthy #kurtrambis #mychalthompson #gold #purple #white #minneapolis #history #16championships #losangeles #california #jimenasanchez #thisiswhyweplay @kobebryant @shaq @magicjohnson @paugasol @dereklfisher @kareemabduljabbar_33 @elginbaylor22 @jamesworthy42 @jimenasanchezmx @lakers @lakerhomie25 @lakeraddict @lakers4life_16 @forgottenlakers @nba @nbamex

2007-08 UD Black 50th Anniversary Patch Auto Elgin Baylor 47/50. Baylor's high flying moves and exciting scoring game brought people to watch the games in the Lakers' early years in Los Angeles after they moved out of Minneapolis. He singlehandedly "made" the LA Lakers back then so he truly deserves the statue built in his honor outside Staples Center. Every hardcore Lakers fan should read his autobiography - Hang Time: My Life In Basketball, and you'll appreciate his greatness more. #nba #nbacards #basketball #basketballcards #lalakers #lakers #elginbaylor #hangtime #upperdeck #nba50greatestplayers #logoman #sportscards #whodoyoucollect #thisiswhywecollect

@kevindurant vs Elgin Baylor

Was denkt ihr?

LENDAS DA NBA 🏀
.

@thedayafter2016 - Gary Mays was born in 1935. He lived with his grandmother and 8 relatives. He was 5 years old when he lost his left arm from an accidental shotgun blast. After a quick recovery, his Uncle Charles, a catcher on the towns semi-pro baseball team, taught him baseball. They’d play catch for hours, Charles throwing from all angles, while Mays learned to not fear the ball. Mays left for DC at age 12 to live with his mother. Local boys tried to bully him, but he used his one arm to bloody noses. He began playing catcher for an adult sandlot team at 13. He then tried out for the Armstrong Tech baseball team. The coach didn't think a one-armed player could make his squad. By the time Mays was a senior, he was the starting catcher. Featured in Ebony and Jet, yet largely ignored by white media, Mays was named one of 3 finalists for the Paris Trophy, given to the DC’s top prep baseball player. Mays batted .375, yielded zero stolen bases and didn't make a single error. “The One-Armed Bandit” from Armstrong Tech even shut down another god-like figure in DC’s Black community, Elgin Baylor, for an upset win in the 1954 city basketball championships. That was the last segregated title tournament held in DC, coming only months before the Brown v. Board of Education decision. Mays headed to Caldwell, Idaho where Baylor was playing basketball for the College of Idaho. The team went 15-0 in conference play the 1954-55 season, the 1st undefeated team in school history. The administration didn’t like the attention the team was getting, and at the end of the best-ever season, fired the coach and dismantled the basketball program. Mays, preparing to leave Idaho, got a personal letter from the founder/owner of the Harlem Globetrotters, requesting that he join the team. He was homesick and turned the offer down. He largely remained a secret outside of his hometown through the years. Mays is the owner of the best sports stories you've never heard. He died at age 82, Jan. 2015. #garymays #onearmbandit #elginbaylor #harlemglobetrotters #notsolongago #nsla

This Mural of all the Laker greats is truly something special and shout out to @gz.jr for making such a beautiful peace in the Los Angeles area. The king of LA mural with LeBron was honestly ridiculous in my opinion and too soon to make. You have to earn recognition and the love in LA. You can’t just sign a contract and become the greatest laker. Great Lakers win Championships and Lakers Nation will never settle for anything less than the chip. Kobe won 5 Championships in LA, Magic and Kareem won 5 together. The history is to win. I hope LeBron can bring it home to LA but the Lakers fan base won’t give him any excuses and will criticize him the whole way until we start winning. #lakers #lakersnation #bleedpurpleandgold #losangelesstyle #championship16 #blackmamba #kobebryant #magicjohnson #kareem #shaq #wilt #jerrywest #elginbaylor #paugasol #derekfisher #byronscott #ronartest #jordanfarmar #sashavujacic #lamarodom #roberthorry

#goodmorning from #thebuckmanteam Normally I post in the #evening but since today is #friday I couldn’t wait to share this with you! Today we are talking about #wilsonhighschool Now most #washingtondc public high schools boast alumni like #waltbellamy or #elginbaylor who are undoubtedly two #dclegends However #wilson doesn’t have such famous athletic alumni, instead Wilson boasts two very important musical alumni. One is #ianmckaye who is a founding member of #fugazi and #minorthreat two legendary dc #punk and #postpunk bands. However few people know that #hottuna and #jeffersonairplane legend jorma kaukonen also attended Wilson. I had many friends who went to Wilson High school over the years and although I went The lab school of washington, Wilson always had a place close to my heart. It was also the local high school for my childhood neighborhood of #chevychasedc which by the way is a wonderful place to own a #home or #condo

I Wearing A #lakers Legend #elginbaylor #22 How You Ain't Got Him Up There?
Before LA Laker greats like Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O' Neal, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Magic Johnson, there was Elgin Baylor, the Root.
He was drafted in 1958 by the team before they were even the LA Lakers. They were still the Minneapolis Lakers, named for the lakes of Minnesota. He was the centerpiece of the team when they moved to California. Angelinos loved his freewheeling, acrobatic style. He took the Lakers to the finals seven times.

Elgin Gay Baylor is an American former basketball player, coach, and executive. He played 14 seasons as a small forward in the National Basketball Association for the Minneapolis / Los Angeles Lakers, appearing in eight NBA Finals.
