After 6 years of being my natural redheaded self, I decided I needed a change.
Physical appearance has to be the easiest thing we have the ability to change in ourselves. Small things like a fresh haircut, a new hair color, new outfit etc can bring the slightest amount of joy into our lives. It's how we feel on the inside that takes more time for growth and change. We don't always know what an individual is going through and for how long by the smiles on their face.
Usually i don't post personal life experiences on Instagram or any social media, but as I sit here and write on a post of myself with Violet hair and how just a simple change of hair color has made me feel a little more alive, I realize and I have known that Ive been numb for so long. Loving and being married to a man for 13 years, living with narcissistic behaviors, knowing that the only good that came from the entire relationship were your three children and going through a divorce that has and is lasting way to long is physically and emotionally draining. I have grown and become so much stronger in these last two years. I have taken steps to learn to love myself and be happy in life even with what it throws at me on a daily basis. It's hard to balance going through a divorce, rebuilding yourself, trying to be a good mother, raising your children and going to school. It can be done, but it's a difficult road. I know many women have gone or are going through the same thing. This is not where I expected to see myself at 35, however the only advice I can give and is how I've chosen to live with and deal with everyday stresses is: take ahold of your goals, do things that make you happy, don't let the stress of what is going on in your life ruin your outlook, worry less and smile more, stay positive, but most importantly remember, tomorrow is a brand new day.
