Everyday, life throws at us events that triggers good (happiness, joy, excitement) or bad emotions (anger, sadness, pain). They can be short-lived or long-lasting.
Understanding and recognising our emotions, also called #emotionalintelligence (one of my new subject of interest lately), is vital to our well-being. It's in fact one of the most important skill to live our best life. 😌

I think it's when it comes to negative emotions, that most of us have problems. Some will live them fully and others will supress them in order to block out the pain. By doing so we limit our capacity of self-understanding and fail to fully experience or shape our lives. Allowing ourselves to live fully our emotions can help us sort out what we really want and think, and how we can make our behavior consistent with it.
Things I learned lately is when a negative emotion comes up, try not to resist it. Relax and let yourself accept and feel whatever you feel, without judgement. It's okay to NOT be okay sometime. 🤗 Find ways to calm the feeling, don't feed it and lastly, talk it out! We all have that one person who we can tell everything and she/he will listen. If you don't, write it down. Sometime, verbalizing how we feel makes it already less painful.✌️❤️

About 5 minutes before this picture was taken Alexandra was in full meltdown mode. The medal with the yellow ribbon is 4th place. For some, that's a fantastic accomplishment. *

To Alexandra it was like the kiss of death. She had her mind set on second place and had come to terms with the fact that one of the girls in that race would beat her, not three. So when she crossed the finish line neck and neck with two other girls and got fourth place she lost it. And I let her. *

#OnTheBlog I share why I let my high achieving child cry when she loses. Emotionally intelligent parenting is so important when raising a kid with a touch of perfectionism. Helping them stay in tune with their feelings is essential.

I’ve been reading Thich Naht Hanh and finding it fascinating how much emphasis he puts on the breath and being aware that you are breathing all the time, on and off the cushion. .
.
It reminded me that we do not actually draw air into the body. Rather, the energy expended in breathing produces a shape change that lowers the pressure in the chest cavity and permits air to be pushed into the body by the weight of the planet’s atmosphere. In other words, we create the space and the earth fills it.

Spending time with one of my daughters last night realizing how unintentionally protecting myself from the pain of connecting emotionally to some hard realities was actually the thing holding me back. There is no way to know how to get where your going unless you can fully experience the pain of where you are. So grateful for my girls.

Opportunity~
It is such a hopeful word.
When we believe we have more opportunities to choose from in life, we tend to be more optimistic, we tend to trust our instincts and intuition more, we may even feel more confident in taking risks, or making sudden decisions.
When we believe we have numerous opportunities to choose from, we tend to be living in our faith and trust more. Opportunities are choices, they are living decisions that either feel good, or not, depending upon our desires.
When we can look at our lives as offering up numerous options for our life, to choose from, then we are living and choosing happiness for ourselves by our choices.
We will only see new opportunities, if we are open to seeing options for our present lifestyle.
If we are feeling a need to shift, the opportunities to create that change will show up, it’s our free will choice, to decide upon our choice.
Our internal barometer of conscious or unconscious thought, is the silent intention that creates opportunities.
We are constantly pumping out intentions, even if we are unaware.
What we intend shows up, how well we intend it , shows us how well it comes into our lives.
Sometimes, to create the life we seek, we need to take a risk, jump off the log, and swim.
Opportunities often lay within the beliefs we hold, sometimes old beliefs need to be tweaked.
Sometimes we need to resurrect the innate knowing of self and soul to know what we seek, need, or aspire to become.
Listen to soul in nature to hear the opportunities self seeks, then allow insights to flow, so those opportunities can be manifested into reality.

Buenos días!! Nunca habéis tenido esa sensación de haber intentado una y otra vez algo y no haberlo conseguido??? Resulta frustrante, ¿verdad? Y es en ese momento en el que nos vienen esos pensamientos de “no voy a seguir intentándolo”, “paso página”, “esto no está hecho para mí”... pensamientos que aparecen en nuestra cabeza de forma automática y en su mayoría son negativos.
TODO LO QUE NOS PREOCUPA O NOS RONDA EN LA CABEZA ES VÁLIDO.
Quizás sería una buena idea dejar de llamar a los problemas, “problemas”, ya que realmente son situaciones a las cuales aún no les hemos encontrado una solución idónea.
Sigamos intentado cada día conseguir todo aquello que nos proponemos, pues no hay una única solución buena, hay múltiples y solo debemos hallar la nuestra.

Just finished with a client in the middle of a top talent career transition. In our coaching session I asked for his 5 intentional self-care practices for this working week. At the top of his list and to be incorporated in the fabric of his life is ➡️*Eliminating the noise by simply blocking access*. What that means is learning to master your Emotional Intelligence enough to silence the detractors and haters and toxicity that inhibits optimal performance and clear decision making.
So I have decided to incorporate that into my daily self-love and self-care practices this week too. In my GROW chart my *Goal is to facilitate an environment conducive to great success all round *Reality: my mind is cluttered by unnecessary noise *Option is to identify and isolate the problem *Will care for myself enough to silence the noise and block its sources. I own my Emotional Intelligence.

My name is Yana. I am the partner and director of 42 Feelings online school. I am a long term student and follower of Oona Soleil Fergusson, one of the world’s leading experts on feelings. Oona and I have decided that we want to share our knowledge. Our mission is to make people emotionally stronger, and able to feel good. All the time!

You know, I have many friends who suffer from excessive anger, shout at their partners and say they can’t control themselves, because that is their nature or because they blame the other person. I have friends who cover up their anger, feel stressed out, and have physical pain. I had experience of emotional abuse in a past relationship and at work, and I don’t want anyone to suffer from the same troubles.

Today we are starting our 8 day feelings session on “How to use anger consciously and in a useful and positive way”.
