I just got back from an amazing weekend competing in the Mrs. Wisconsin pageant. Even though I’ve done this many times it’s still a thrilling experience. I still get nervous and it still feels risky, especially now! To do this at age 57 feels very risky and that is part of the thrill.
My #mission as a #speaker is to #empowerwomen and #inspire others to be the very best version of yourself. I’m #passionate about #encouraging women to reach for dreams and know that no matter what age and stage you are in life you are #beautiful, #powerful and #relevant. It’s never, EVER too late to have the life you were meant to have.
This post would not be complete without mentioning #success vs. #failure vs. #learning. Because I’m an #optimistic #woman and I strive to be an #inspiration to others, I would normally hide my disappointment and only show #positivity. The #truth of the matter is that I’m incredibly disappointed that I didn’t win. I wanted this badly! I usually don’t admit this publicly but I want to let people know it’s ok, and completely normal, to feel disappointed when you don’t reach a goal you’ve worked hard to achieve. It’s ok! At the same time I feel amazing, empowered, beautiful and thrilled that I did this. I’m also incredibly #happy for Regina, the new Mrs. Wisconsin. She is gorgeous and a great choice as the titleholder.
I believe with all my heart that the greatest opportunity for #strength and #growth is in our failures. I love @tonyrobbins #quote : “There is no such thing as failure. There are only results”. Now it’s time to learn from the results of this experience, grow stronger and use this as fuel to propel me to my next goal.
