It is blissfuly warm today again, and that reminds me of our long hot summer, I really enjoyed the warm weather, apologies to those of you who just found it too much. In the last 2 weeks I have had a few clients come to me with exercise related muscle pain, this got me thinking, for the first time in many years in London at least we had a period of continual warmth, with more acute muscle pain coming at the onset of autumn, is it purely that we are back from our holidays and realising that we need to get back to keeping fit, or is it with these cool, chilly morning a longer period of warming up is required before exercising, possible both!
This summer seems to give us a taste of why people seem to enjoy ‘bikram yoga’ of which I am not a fan (more on that another time) in that our flexibility increases when muscles are not cold and tighter as they so often can be in the UK.
Yesterday morning as I headed to Battersea park for a run early in the morning, I made a commitment to myself that I’s shares this with you and that this week I’d also share some other change of season thoughts as we welcome the autumn that is just around the corner.
Enjoy your exercise, warm up and warm down, for long than you think you need to, you won’t regret it.
Happy sunny Monday !! #exercises #autumn #healthylifestyle #enjoylondon #acupunctureworks #explore #happymondays
