Good morning. Long post alert!!
I’m sitting here on a VERY QUIET 🤫 Saturday morning and thinking of my family. Two months ago, I was waking up at Ashley and Kyle’s house every day and praying for my girl and ending of her treatments and being cancer free. I miss Chancy pants, as Lisa calls him, for sure but I’m sitting here reflecting how blessed my family is today for sure.
Ashley started calling me this- see above - during her treatments and I like it. It gave me the power I needed to get through those aweful seven months. It was a really rough time for all five of us. People would ask me, do you miss Chuck, and boy did I, but, he manned the fort in Ocean, continued to work at a Target, take care of our kitties, and we family texted like crazy. And how blessed was I that I could be there for Kyle and Ashley!! And Kyle and I made a great team caring for our girl! Danielle and Chuck came up for weekend dinners and we all do family texts to stay in the loop with each other.
I am SOOOO grateful today. We are ALL getting back to our “normal” lives. The new “normal.” I think we’ll all be worried as each doctor appointment comes but having the five of us there to support each other will get us through. Hearing this week Cancer Free made this Momma Dukes so happy.
We’ve all become closer and more grateful because of this thing called cancer. Who would have thunk.
I’m looking forward to spending so much MORE TIME together. Really enjoying EVERY single minute we have on this earth and being so grateful to be a family.
Forgive, understand, enjoy, value, and be forever grateful folks. I know I am today. Love you Chuck, Danielle, Ashley, and Kyle. God put me here for a purpose and I NEVER take anything for granted!!
