So, my friend and I have been collecting items to make an environmentally friendly, new baby hamper.
This is so important to me for so many reasons. Firstly, when I was pregnant with my son (now two) there was absolutely no encouragement to buy anything that would be kinder to the planet. In fact, everything suggested to me was simply with a view to convenience.
An estimated 8 million disposable nappies are thrown away EVERY day, just in the UK. So, now think of all those wipes!
Straight into landfill or sadly our oceans. 😭
Having a baby should not mean contributing to the environmental crisis. We need to start educating new parents on the impact of their choices so that we can protect our 🌍 and the future of the next generation.
The contents of this sustainably-made basket are biodegradable nappies, nappy bags and wipes, organic swaddle blanket and babygros, reusable breast pads, breastfeeding nutrition bars (that happen to be accidentally vegan), some vegan choc treats for mum, herbal tea in biodegradable bags, a cruelty-free toiletries set, a wooden nursery gift and a vegan approved facial oil to give mum's skin a little pick-me-up when the sleep deprivation kicks in. Finished off with a Baby's First soft rattle toy. I hope she loves as much as I do 💚
