When I produce a litter it's always for me, never for others, not for money, it is not a source of income and I give away the working prospects to working homes and sell pets with a nominal fee to ensure proper homes. We've done 3 litters in 8 years.
When people breed paperwork to paperwork and do sport to get something back from it, you are missing the point of the whole thing.
Don't jump on the bandwagon of what's trending now.
If you are switching between OFA, PennHip, SV to get the score you "need" to breed your dog you are missing the point.
If you fail to advertise your DM carrier results, and only mention it if asked directly you are missing the point.
If you breed a litter and send dogs out into the world without a spay and neuter contract carrying DM, then you are missing the point.
If your sole reason for titling your dog is to breed them, you are missing the point.
If you tell me all the big players don't care for temperament, grips etc but all they care about is ratings, then you are missing the point and can count me out.
Moral of the story is that you are responsible for you and your program, and should not be concerned about what others are doing. It's none of my business what others do, keep or train. I am focused on my own path and growth as a dog trainer. I do not have time to keep up with the sewing circle.
Dog training first and work what you produce... #ethicalbreeding #gsd
