Starting a new business can feel like trying to climb a mountain. It's a pretty accurate reflection of how I am feeling today...there's a lot to do before I can launch my courses and I can't wait to share my launch date with you.
Today I want to leave you with a thought about pricing, because it's something that's been playing on my mind for a while. I saw the owner of probably one of the biggest UK beauty distributors in the UK posting about it yesterday and that was the trigger for this post..... I so often see small business owners panicking about pricing. Why do us ladies not like to talk about our prices? Or more pointedly, why are we so apologetic about pricing?
I don't have the answer to that question, but what I do know is that you should charge what you are worth, every time. If you don't see the value in your business, how are your customers supposed to? Maybe you're a cake-maker, to embarrassed to charge the right amount. You try and charge what your competitors charge? Perhaps you're a holistic coach or therapist that ends up giving away lots of your time for free and then resenting it...sound familiar?
I'm going to write a blog about this later this week so I can go deeper into re-arranging the scaredy-cat mindset that stops you from charging what you're worth and how creating value around your products or services will help.
For now, answer me this question;
How much do you charge for one of your products or services now?
Now times it by 1.5 - what figure does that give you?
Does that figure still seem wildly unrealistic? If it doesn't - then you aren't charging enough! You aren't charging your worth. #smallbusinessowner #mumpreneurs #mompreneur #etsysellersofinstagram #salonlife #hairdresserlife #cakeboss #womensupportingwomen #womeninbusiness #stallholders #makersofinstagram
