Sunset at the Avenue de Baobab. This species of baobab is called the Grandidier and is exclusive to the island of #Madagascar. They grow to be 30m tall and 10m in diameter and capable of holding thousands of gallons of water they are used by the Malagasy people as a source of nutritious food as well as drinking water. It is a harsh, yet undeniable truth that climate change is occurring on a global scale and impacting all societies today however some countries feel these changes more than others. Over the last few decades #Madagascar has experienced a large fluctuation in rainfall patterns, increased temperatures and larger severe weather events. Climate change has placed this baobab on the endangered species list and could wipe them out in Madagascar. We can reverse the affects of climate change! Restoring our forests will not only maintain biodiversity but assist the landscape retain its water and combat the emission of greenhouse gases. It will take a lot but it can and must be done.

Our Future
All life on earth is so closely intertwined that the survival of one species so greatly depends on another.
For me the black-necked stork has come to represent a species whose major predator is indirectly humans through electricity wires and land clearing.
Otherwise known as a Jabiru this storks resistance depends on isolation and lack of human contact in pristine locations.
The restoration of wetlands areas offers great hope!
