It never ceases to amaze me how one thing can set off a swathe of memories & thoughts!
Came across this thing of beauty, an L plate (if you don't understand British registration numbers, that's 1972) Triumph Thruxton 900. I could regale you about its lines, speed, grace, throatiness of it's exhaust etc; which of are fantastic!
Seeing it's beautifully crafted piece of British workmanship reminded me what it is to ride. The best description is this.....it's like being that lone gunslinger you hear about or see in westerns. That character who goes from town to town helping those in need of his skills.
The greatest battlefield you will ever fight on or in, the battlefield of the mind. It is a battlefield that claims many casualties, but never really has any victors because the small victory you won yesterday can be taken away by a minor defeat today. At the end of WW2 despatch riders came home after seeing the horrors of war & never really having made in back home took solace in what they knew & understood........riding. They formed motorcycle clubs & did circuits of terror US helping other servicemen who also never really came home.
I rode because that was my outlet, not just a mode of transport, but a lifeline.
It's not always easy to see when someone is going through a mental health crisis as sometimes there are no telltale signs. They could be the ones making you laugh! If you know someone going through mental health challenges never tell them to snap out of it or that it's just in their mind. Just be the light that they need in the darkness. #mentalhealth #positivethinking #positivestateofmind #positivestateofbeing #motorbikes #motorcycles #triumphbikes #thebattlefield #military #soldiers #bikers #blackandwhitepictures #bnwphotography #bnwpictures #bnwphotos #bnw #everydayisachallenge #themind #keepwinning #youarenotalone #theovercomer #ivegotthisbeat #london #southwark #greatminds #i nerpeace #themindseye #themind #stayup #neveralone
