The sprawling Gardens by the bay are an integral part of a Singapore government strategy to transform Singapore from a « garden city » into a « city in a garden ». They success well cause we love to land and be directly immersed by the nature all the way from the airport to the city. You'll enjoy the Cloud Forrest, the Flower Dome, the sculpture of Marc Quinn's floating baby and of course the super-trees that come alive with a display of light and music at night: the rhapsody of the garden.

Direction Rotorua with an obligatory stop in Matamata, to visit Hobbiton, the houses of the Hobbits, in the Shire - le Comté, the Tolkien’s fantasy land, the Middle Earth. The whole place has something magical in the air and real on the same time with all the details. We enjoyed as well our ginger beer at the Green Dragon inn, cause as Bilbo Balggins alias Bilbon Sacquet said : « It is not a bad thing to celebrate a simple life »... Simply happy!
A short ferry ride from Auckland, Waiheke Island is a popular getaway and is a highlight of our stay. You can embark from Sydney or Los Angeles at breakfast time and arrive on site for lunch in the restaurant of a vineyard - a view of the vineyards and the sea as a bonus, as at Mudbrick vineyard where we have lunched the best vegan salad with a succulent hummus and right next to Cable Bay Vineyard, where we had a drink to enjoy the soothing view of the sea.
Diner at the Korean restaurant Hansik, with my step brother, who is living in Auckland since seven years and that I just met for our first time. He ordered a special vegan gastronomy menu for us, very kind attention from him. It was very good and refined but of course I prefer the many different vegan dishes that my aunties cook for us in Busan, Gimji and Seoul.
