That moment you realize she's in good hands. My little girl, Morrigan (4), under the guidance of my son, Phoenix (7), on her first day at ATA Songham Taekwondo #atasongahmtaekwondo @atasongahmtaekwondofans #atasonghamtaekwondounicorns #whatchoutforthewheenuts #onehandedpushups
Took me time to realize, as a parent, you never really stop earning their love and respect. It's never simply given because you are their parent, and it's never final. You fight to keep it every single day. You work for it before they wake up, and don't stop until long after they go to sleep. And in-between, there are moments... Like the ones today, when you're given a chance to see how that translates into their own actions. How they earn their own keep. A glimpse of what they could be, to each other, to others.
Today, I am reminded how important all that work is, and how incredible it is to be part of their journey, part of their world. I am grateful, and I feel so damn lucky. #parenting #proudparents #bigbrothermoment
To all the hard-working parents out there: it's hard, it's overwhelming and it's complicated. Keep pushing through the bad moments and hanging on to the good ones. Keep going, keep trying and don't ever, ever give up on moments like these #eyeswideopen
