Whoever said fashion & spirituality can’t co-exist?
I’m a believer that we can bring consciousness to ALL our practices, including consumption & fashion choices. I would actually argue that with awareness of our individual choices on the greater whole (particularly the potential detrimental impact on the environment), it’s our responsibility to be more mindful.
As someone who loves fashion, I have found myself struggling with this dilemma even more recently.
Luckily, if you’re like me & love fashion, designer labels, etc yet also reticent to keep consuming more and encouraging more mass production... I‘ve found creative ways to bridge this gap.
In fact, everything worn in this picture came from one of the below listed resale places.
From thriftshops like goodwill and salavationarmy, poshmark Facebook marketplace, eBay and clothing swaps. For designer resale I like more specialty shops and LOVE @therealreal I wrote an article on this company years ago and love that the labels they carry have expanded and that they are mindful of the affect of fashion on the environment—and waste reduced by up-cycling
These are all great options not only for clearing out your closet and bringing in extra cash, but also for recycling fashion.
For any women on the westside, I will be co-hosting a clothing swap/sell this Saturday early evening in Santa Monica. If you would like to join, DM me for more info!
Btw, Have you noticed all the snakeskin & animal prints yet? Would love to know what’s your favorite fall fashion trend?
