Crescendo fasting anyone? .
That’s a term that I created when I first explained how to approach intermittent fasting especially for women!
.
This means start with short fast like 12 hours basically stopping at seven and it again at 7 AM – sounds pretty easy right?
.
But you can’t skip the step and go to 16 hour fasting every day like a lot of people do
.
If you skip the step and move straight to aggressive fasting you might notice that your hormones go haywire.
.
You will wake up ravenous hungry, tired, Moody etc
.
So take it slow decrease your carbs overall- do 12 hours 2 days a week then in 2 weeks increase to 14 hours 2-3 days a week then you can move to 15-16 hours 2-3 days a week.
.
This is exactly what I do!
.
Fun fact: This is my first attempt at creating a graphic by myself 😂and I made it because I couldn’t find a perfect one to illustrate my exact schedule (two to three days a week)
.
I usually break the fast with nuts, veggies and fruit— often also a smoothie or bar.
.
Then I just eat a light snack around 1 PM and 3 PM and dinner at six.
.
Because of fasting I have noticed that I do better with low grains and no sugar plant based diet.
.
The things I have to be careful about is nuts and chocolate 😋🍫 (My favorite dessert on weekdays is a Handful of dark chocolate chips mixed with almonds!) I need to also watch my “healthy” chip intake (love salty)
.
I drink a ton of water all day.
.
.
The whole point is keeping your blood sugar even and or inflammation levels low. You’ll feel your energy your focus and your body fat respond- give it 3 cycles (3 months!)

If the old theory of oxidative stress were true, everyone who practices exercises and sports should be more ill, given the high levels of oxygen it produces, when we can clearly see that the opposite is happening and that sedentary people have the worst health.
