A few of months ago, Alyvia brought home a paper regarding choir 🎤 at school and asked if she could join. Secretively, Justin and I were surprised that she would want to do something like this given her naturally anxious personality.
One of the requirements, meant that she needed to be at school an hour early every Tuesday and Wednesday for the past few months and minus being late a few times (it runs in her blood 🤪🤦🏻♀️😂), she successfully accomplished this. 👏🏼 She practiced constantly. In the shower, 🚿in bed 🛌, everywhere 🏃♀️she went. I’m pretty sure that our entire family knows the songs by heart. 🎶
Then about a month ago, she brought home another paper which was an audition for solos and she told us that she wanted to try out!! 😳 I was shocked but also SO excited for her! The solo auditions were 2 hours before school began and somehow, by the Grace if God, she made it happen!! She’s been so excited and also so nervous. More and more leading up to last night but she still continued moving forward— never giving up. 🙌🏼 This past Sunday, unbeknownst to me she asked her small group at church to pray 🙏🏻 for her because she was scared. Last night, one of the moms of a child of her small group at church, contacted me and said that he had been praying for her and that he really wanted to come and watch her. I was so touched.♥️ As I was curling her hair last night prior to us leaving the house she was full of anxiety. 😔 Second guessing herself completely. I kept reminding her of how incredibly brave and courageous she was to even have considered doing something like this.💪🏼 I don’t know that I could ever do what she did last night.🎤🙅🏻♀️ What an example she was of someone who chased down her dream and made it happen, without allowing fear to stand in her way!! I’m so proud of her for doing the hard, scary things and for not believing the lies inside of her head! This is only the beginning. ♥️
