This is my favorite color. Any shade of blue will do. What is your favorite color? I wonder what Meg’s @meg_nlo favorite color is? She amazes me with every shot she takes, especially now with baby Scout. Congrats on 150k! #meghits150 . It’s #macromondayloop! Today’s theme is FAVORITE COLOR. Here I used a (cheap) digital microscope to give extreme close ups of this bee that was found deceased. I am always fascinated by insects anatomy as it is so radically different than our own. This was the first of a few shots I have done lately, and now the next challenge will be to take cleaner and crisper photos with it. Seeing this female bee's tongue and face in such magnification for me is a huge treat as I love bees and it's my hope to inspire a bit of love for them and other creepy crawlies by showing they do have faces and can be incredibly cute.
This otherworldly looking scene is a load of (shoddy) welding, where it has been welded and re-welded many times. Giving a scarred and pockmarked surface, like some distant planet with a metallic surface.
Here is the rather intimidating face of a crane fly. Also known as Daddy Long Legs, both Harvestmen, and Cellar Spiders are also commonly called this, and contrary to the urban legend none posses venom capable of killing a human, and Cellar Spiders are the only ones that actually are venomous. In addition, Crane Flies do not bite. I love the shape of its head which I find rather menacing up close, as well as the large eyes and mandible's protruding from its mouth. A stunning and largely very annoying insect!
