Fefe Dobson, 2003
Fefe is a Canadian singer and songwriter from Scarborough, Ontario. Her influences include Judy Garland, John Lennon and primarily Michael Jackson. Fefe’s mother is of English, Irish, Dutch and Native American ancestry and her father is of Jamaican heritage. Fefe felt as though when she was entering the music industry that she was stereotyped as a contemporary R&B instead of a rock n roll musician due to her race. She would often be compared to Brandy Norwood and Britney Spears.
Fefe’s self titled album genre is considered pop-rock with aspects of punk. Her other works grouped together have been classified as pop rock, pop punk and power pop.
