Hi! I’m Rachael, the plant priestess / product developer / female entrepreneur / owner and maker of Texana. No copackers, no concentrates, no cane sugar. I still brew and bottle every batch. I am a biologist and environmental educator of herbalism, foraging, and horticultural therapy. I am protective of wild spaces, and I practice and teach gentle interactions with Nature. I wildharvest and brew yaupon as a wonderful safe and harmonious plant teacher to uplift the world. It is very tea-like, and full of mood-boosting theobromine, as well as high in antioxidants, anti inflammatories, and with just enough caffeine to give you the perfect perk. It is a prolific grower and is abundant in nature. It’s also culinarily and experientially superior to its South American cousin, yerba maté, as it tastes better and offers no jitters or crash. Each of my blends is made for wellness and healing, and inner harmony. I am so grateful for the support of the Texas food community, and all those who still have eyes for small batch artisanal goods made by hand. Texana is made from Texas yaupon, sweetened with Good Flow Texas honey, and handmade in Austin. It doesn’t get more local than that. So, as I like to say, Sip A Local Secret! And cheers!
