Did you challenge yourself this week? Did you do something for yourself, to better yourself?
Weeks go by, months go by that you might be saying “I’ll start next week” or “I’ll start after vacation” but when that time comes it doesn’t happen? Through 10 years of working with personal training clients I have found one of the main reasons this happens is that people think they have to starve themselves and workout 7 days per week to see results. They might also be lacking motivation because they haven’t set realities, timely, achievable goals. They might not be surrounded by a good group of motivated or supportive people. These are all factors that could be affecting you reaching your full potential.
I often get asked how I stay motivated to exercise and eat healthy with such a busy schedule. My answer is always “because it makes me feel good and keeps me sane”. No matter how busy the week gets I know that the only things I can control is if I move my body each day and what I put in my mouth. I feel more energized, sleep better, feel better in my clothes, and pretty sure I’m a better Mom/Wife/Coach when I’ve taken care of myself.
I love challenging myself and after posting that video last week of me doing 50 box jumps at the Femsport competition 2 years ago....I was so curious if I could still do it! I don’t think I’ve attempted it again since that exact time (check my timeline for the last video) - so last night after my workout I had to give it a go! So I believe my best time for 50 box jumps is 45 seconds and when I tried it again last night I did it in 50 seconds!! I was shocked! It was harder than I remember, but man that felt good!! Post baby and I am still able to bang out 50 box jumps in 50 seconds! Sure this is a result of my #postpartum training - but the best part about challenging yourself is the feeling when you accomplish it!! THE BEST!
If you haven’t done anything for yourself this week- make today the day!!! You got this - get after it!!!
