Some men are drawn to sports that invite violent confrontation. There is something within these individuals that yearns for the physical combat that is typical of certain pastimes.
As such, it was almost inevitable that Ice Hockey enforcer, Billy Cliff, would find his way to the squared circle.
The southpaw is known to be the first player to put his stick down and go head-to-head with opposing counterparts and it is this tenacity that has made him a natural boxer.
Cliff’s inherent toughness meant he was able to excel as an amateur, against far more experienced opponents.
Never was this more evident than when he won the NSW Middleweight title in 2017, entering the tournament with only 6 fights in his book.
Now the Bondi Boxing Club product is ready to make a similar assault on the professional ranks and Coach Tony Del Vecchio isn’t afraid to put his charge in tough fights, straight from the get-go.
Facing Cliff, will be Ryan Spencer from Taree. The lifeguard thrives off competition and has become utterly obsessed with the sweet science.
The fellow southpaw is coached by Kristen Bell, who is a firm believer in putting in the hard yards and never cutting corners.
The duo’s shared approach to the sport means they are more than willing to take challenging fights and they come into this bout confident of the win.
Join us on Saturday 23rd February for a bout between two excellent southpaw operators, when Billy Cliff takes on Ryan Spencer in a 4 round middleweight fight. Fast-entry tickets are available direct from Bondi Boxing Club.
