Meet Chef Kayson
Fueled by his curiosity, and encouraged by his mother, He enrolled in San Francisco’s California Culinary Academy and upon graduation, joined Master Chef Wolfgang Puck at Postrio. Chong’s next move was to work under Chef Julian Serrano at the five diamond Picasso, located in the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas.
After honing his skills for two years in Las Vegas, Chong was approached to be part of the BLT Group new outposts in Los Angeles. At the cutting edge BLT Steak, he perfected the art of the modern American steakhouse. This led to an extraordinarily successful tenure as Chef at the remarkable BOA Steakhouse on Sunset Blvd. in Los Angeles.
Chef Chong has continued to expand his experience both at consulting, and opening new restaurants throughout Southern California. He was also the founding partner and Executive Chef of Mainland Poke in LA.
Mr. Chong is very excited to bring his culinary talents and diverse skills to the heart of steak country in Kansas. He can’t wait to execute a bold, inventive menu and create a unique dining experience for Wichitans.
