#finecurlfridays Repost @curlycurvypassion
A bit of a throwback to some videos that I'd saved with the intention of posting differently, but never got around to it. I decided to share now for those of you who happen to have hair with similar characteristics as mine, who've been wanting to try @righteousrootsoils but have been reluctant. Everyone is different. This is just one of multiple aspects of MY experience with RRO.
I have a very complicated head of hair these days, and it's temperamental at best because of how thin, fine and low-density it is. Sometimes my curls clump more than others. Sometimes the same exact product combo/routine works differently, depending on whether my hair wants to behave or if perhaps it's reacting to medication. My medically-related hair loss has also left me with bald spots that I always have to be strategic to try and work with, without feeling the need to be disingenuous about my journey and my appearance. It's all a balancing act, but I definitely can say that Righteous Roots oils has been a critical part of my hair's journey and of bringing it to its current state. Along with my other holy grail product line, I cannot imagine having achieved the best, healthiest curls I've ever had, despite illness, without RRO being a part of my regimen. My hair has never been in better shape. I'm so glad that I didn't listen to people who told me that I could never use oils because of my low-density ,low-porosity, thin, fine and "protein-sensitive" hair.
These videos are just an example of a day when my hair had incredible amounts of shrinkage, was not quite as long as it is now, and was just not wanting to come out of its cast with any length or volume. It's no secret that I prefer definition over volume, because my hair is so ultra baby fine. Halo frizz is awful on me, as is too much manipulation, which pretty much guarantees me frizz.
Working in RRO and avoiding my hands in my hair too often is key for me. I use chopsticks, both wooden and metal, to lift and separate my hair curls, up away from my scalp, and encourage it in the direction it needs to go, eventually ending up with a decent look. :
