I’ll have to clean these up. Need to see less knees up and more straight legs. Finally found a good park to practice. Nothing to hit my head on. It’s happened lol.

Pretty much! 💁‍♀️
I've had as many negative comments for all the positive ones I've had on my journey. 🙄
I've discovered some people will always critique you regardless. Whether it's out of jealousy, spitefulness or whatever. I brush it off now. 💪
I'm living my life for me, not anyone else, as my Nanny used to say "if you have nothing nice to say then say nothing at all" shame some people don't keep it 🤐. .
You don't have to agree with my lifestyle or what I do. I'll 100% help and support anyone that wants to embark on a health and fitness journey the same way my coach and team supported me, and continue to do so.

Fabulous answer to a question I get a lot: “I’m eating the right amount of calories, but I’m not losing weight, why?”
@Regrann from @chadhargrove1 - Ever create a calorie deficit with one of those calculators and it didn’t work?
-
Today I’ll explain why it didn’t work.
-
Before I get into, a coupe things to note:
-
1. The 1600 number used is an example. I have many clients that come to having noted trying to lose fat on 1000-1200 calories daily — sometimes even less — this 1600 number is used because it’s close to where I often have those clients track once they start.
2. You don’t have to eat perfectly to create a deficit and lose fat. Don’t take the food choices too literally. I’ll explain what I mean here as I go along.
-
So here’s kinda how a fat loss plan works.
-
Use a calculator, set the calories.
-
Aim to get the calories, right.
-
Get lean, lose stubborn body fat, see some muscle definition and tone up.
-
Easy, right?
-
But it hasn’t happened this way for you has it?
-
Here’s the main reason why. The only reason it’s exciting information is because it’s very often the truth.
-
You say you’re eating 1600 calories a day (again, for example), but you’re actually eating 2100 a day (again, example)
-
You say you’re eating a certain amount, but it’s more.
-
Whether it’s being a little too off daily, or going off by quite a bit more than you think on the weekends, this is usually it.
-
Your calorie deficit doesn’t work, because you aren’t actually in a deficit.
-
And although someone may say “ya but if you have a hormonal imbalance or hypothyroid, a deficit doesn’t work”.
-
Now, what needs to be understood is a deficit is confirmed by weight loss over time — ignore day to day fluctuations. If no weight loss, there is no deficit.
-
Certain situations — relativity rare situations — can impact metabolism to a point a deficit is more difficult or would potentially be unhealthy to strive for, if you’re in a deficit you lose weight.
-
And if you’ve aimed for a deficit before, to lose fat, the answer is almost always you just ate more than you thought. And if you really suspect a medical issue, go to your doctor to confirm.

I never hated the woman on the left. I just dismissed her needs for so long that I had forgotten what her needs were.
.
Finding time - scratch that, CREATING time for myself to move my body was step one.  I started with videos, did that from home with zero form (and pretty much zero results). I hired a personal trainer to come home but that was so inconsistent that again, results were minimal.  HOWEVER, what I learned from my trainer was that I had to work on my FORM to yeild results that I was looking for.
.

Armed with that knowledge, I reluctantly joined a studio which focused on alignment, proper form and community.  Now I had added the element of fun, social interaction with supportive like minded people, and consistency. .

The rest is history.
Well, not really.
The rest is consistent hard work, getting up early when I don't want to, going out in inclement weather, carrying extra bags full of gym clothes, preparing meals, planning (oh the planning!), balancing responsibilies (when it would be 'easier' to skip the workout), and of course - doing the work.
.
You can't outsource movement.
.

Only you can connect your breath to your movements. Only you can think of a muscle and contract or relax it. Only you can carry the weight, grip the bar or handle, push or pull yourself in the direction of your goals. Only YOU. .
➡️Let me show you How. Join my Aligned with Strength class and come see what YOU CAN DO.

Punta Cana or bust? 👙🍹🏝
.
.
This week I found out I earned and all inclusive trip to Punta next spring!!! .
.
I feel completely blessed and humbled by this opportunity. At times I wonder how did This happen?!?! I mean, when I signed up to try to lose some weight and get myself healthy, I had no idea how much it would truly impact my life...
.
.
The relationships I have created with women all across the country and world are truly the biggest gift I have been given, but the perks are pretty fun, too!
.
.
I need to renew my passport and get Eve her first passport (yep, she gets to go too), this momma and daughter are headed to Punta Cana baby!!🏖 .

The plank has become a very popular exercise in the fitness world. There is a even Guinness Book of World Records, record for this exercise. It has got to the point where most individuals seeking greater fitness do this exercise. Most participants believe it is a great exercise for development of the 'core' 🍏muscles.
.
There is no questioning the fact that this exercise involves the 'core' muscles, but in a very specific manner. Only if you assume different positions, are you able to involve or target ALL of the core muscles. .
Instead of the plank being relegated to general #fitness or used as a variation for developing isometric strength, it appears to be gaining in popularity in the athletic community. 😯
.
The basic plank and its variations are, by most; considered effective for development of the core muscles (i.e. the abdominal, lower back and sometimes hip muscles).
.
In reality however, the plank is a poor exercise for strengthening the core for almost all sports, except for archery 🎯 and shooting. 🔫
.
Understand that when you do the plank, the strength you gain is isometric (static) and only in the muscles that are involved. The isometric strength cannot be equated to or transferred to dynamic strength which is what the athlete needs, especially of the muscles that are involved in execution of his/her skills.

Did you notice that the list of what to focus on to lose weight is shorter than the list of things you don’t need to focus on?

Ignoring the stuff on the right means a whole lot of time and mental energy you can save to focus on what really works. 👉Detoxes & Cleanses don’t actually work.
👉Eliminating food groups/types of food works only because in the process you reduce total calories.
👉Eating “clean,” if it’s even definable, doesn’t equal fat loss unless you also control total calories.
👉There are no superfoods.
👉The more cardio you do the more efficient you’ll become, meaning you’ll need to do more & more to get the same results. Also, people way overestimate how many calories they burn through cardio and underestimate how many they eat. The saying “you can’t out exercise a bad diet is true.
👉Trying to do everything perfectly is exhausting, and thankfully not even necessary. An all or nothing mentality usually leads to nothing.

So what should you focus on if it’s not all of that☝️These 6 things are the big dial movers:
👍Total calories. Eat fewer calories than you burn. Not sure how to figure out how many calories to eat? Click the link in my bio to get my Free 5 Day Fat Loss Crash Course.
👍Mostly nutrient dense food. Vegetables, fruit, fish, chicken, beef, rice and other grains, dairy... eat these 80-90% of the time. The other 10-20% of your food can be fun stuff like candy, cookies, chips, fries, ice cream & other yumminess.
👍Eat enough protein. .7-1 gram per pound of bodyweight is plenty.
👍Strength train 2-4x per week.
👍Increase daily movement. 10,000 steps is a goal to shoot for. Work your way up.
👍Be consistent. You don’t need to be perfect, but being consistent day in and day out with the above 6 things will mean big results.

Weekends count too;) The slightly annoying part is that weight loss takes time. Results aren’t immediate and in the beginning it seems like a crazy amount of effort for very little payoff. But... it compounds. Stick with it and you’ll see.
💕💪
