My hubby picks up the mails and leaves on top of clothes dryer. He glances the mails and leave until I go through. So if I don’t go through, they are just there on top of dryer. I don’t like clutter. I go through them and decide which one I keep or dump it. The most of our mails are useless junk mails. They go where they belong. Trash can.
My question will be that are we doing this to our own life too? Clutter is not just physical stuff. My hubby will leave those mails forever. And some of you guys will do that with your emotion, your bad behavior, your past, and even your own mails too.
Do you really want to file up your clutter on top of other clutter? If I don’t go through mails for one week, that’s so much to go through by Sunday, and this analysis goes to your clutter too. You gotta go through your clutter and throw away old habit, get rid of negative behaviors, let go of toxic relationship, and live clutter less life.
I hold a grudge and I practice to let it go on same day.
I want to live clutter less in the present bc I know I will have more clutter tomm. So why keep them ?
Think right now that what is your clutter?
Face your reality and it’s time to get rid of them!It might take longer if you got a lot. But it’s ok. It’s a start.

How did I build my #selfesteem and #self confidence?
You don’t know how mentally you are strong until the life challenges you.
My high school sorta messed up my head a big time.
Then how I gain back ?
First of all, you need to understand that you don’t born w high self esteem, self confidence, self love even self worth. We kinda adapt, learn, and grow based on our daily life.
Going through with breast cancer, I found out how strong minded person I was.
Being self conscious about my look, I challenged myself to get on the stage. I know it was only bikini competition but I did something that I would never thought about doing it. During these years, I had a mental breakdown bc i still didn’t feel good enough for myself. It was constant battle me and myself.
I found out that the 14 years young Jessica was controlling me. She kept saying that I wasn’t pretty enough, smart enough, fit enough and stupid.
Once I let her go and I really started to take care myself inside. The outside was taken care by old Jessica for while. I don’t talk to myself any negative way. I don’t tell myself that I can’t do it. I don’t compare my body with anybody. I actually like my body. I like my sassy personality. I like broken English with accent. As long as my members and my hubby understand me, then i am good.
So this is my story.
I hope that my story can help you in some way.

“What happened to me during my high school?”
I was 15 years when I took this pic. I went VanNuys JR high for 9th and moved to Claremont.
I was still learning English than I was super timid and shy. Being type A, introvert personality, it was hard for me to mingle with kids.
I didn’t like my appearance.
I didn’t like my broken English w accent.
So I isolated myself from other kids. The library was my favorite place during lunch.
My self esteem literally went down during my history class at 10th. It was all talk and discussion. Me.. looking down and staring at the end of table for a whole year.
Teen age is so important to develop personality and characteristic. And I was fucked.
No friends, no invite for school dances, and no self love. And same time I started developing eating disorder and body image issue.
If I’m pettier, ppl will like me.
If I’m skinnier, ppl will talk to me. But it was me who hid from ppl bc I was so concerned about how they think of me and my broken English.
The more I compared myself to others, the more I hated myself.
So.. I decided to Join the gym to lose weight. And I did.

I lived in Korea for 14 years before I moved to America.
Back in Korea, I was attending girls school for two years and the school had very strict rules for clothes.
The skirt had to be below the knees.
The hair length had to be around the bottom of ear lobes.
Did I follow the rules?
Of course! I did.
I was a good 👩🎓.
But the thing changed once i moved in here.
I could wear a skirt that is above my knees and I could let my hair grow long.
Now... that’s called #freedom
So I started to wear mini skirts and let my hair grow but I found out something that I had no idea.
My legs are short, my calves are big, my legs are curved , my legs are stubby, my hairs are frizzy and my hairs are curly.
My idea for a prefect body was to have skinny straight legs and straight frizzy free hair.
Omg! The moment I found out how horrible I looked in mini skirt and my hair, I stopped wearing skirts, I started to get straight perm my hair.
As a teenager, your looks is all about. On top of it, I barley spoke due to language barrier that I became wallpaper.
I didn’t like my body.
I didn’t like my life.
I didn’t like anything about me. I was very depressed. I was very sad. I was very confused. I questioned my existence everyday. I started writing daily how I hated my life. I’ve never told anybody my struggle until I was 37 years.
I carried that baggage with me for 23 years.
What happened to me?
That will be tomm post.

Our past is like water that you spilled on the floor. You can’t put it back to the glass. You wipe it and move on.
We definitely can’t control our future because we don’t even know what to eat tomm night for happy hour. It’s pretty unknown fact.
People... try to control you first.. you can’t even control you and you are trying to control others. That’s pretty dumb! I had to learn to let go. I was that dumb person.
We spend a lot of energy and time to think/worry/ get stressed over these and it’s not doing anything except getting anxiety, angry, depressed, hold resentment, unhappy and unhealthy.
Time to let go things that you have no control but be control what you have . It’s YOU!
Work on that part!

I didn’t want to lift today.
Even though, I had 8 hours sleep ( it’s very rare for me), I just don’t have any energy left.
I was debating whether I should just skip lifting today or not. I was contemplating pro and con , so I came up with “I will just lift 40 mins and that’s it” I usually spend 50-60 mins for lifting.
So I did. I lifted for 40 mins.
I’m glad that I did because I would feel little bad not doing It.
Mark Twain said “Do something everyday that you don’t want to do; this is the golden rule for acquiring the habit of doing your duty without pain”.

I got new #Vibram shoes for my favorite work out studio #FitBodybyJessica in Fontana. I’ve been going there for years and love it! And these shoes were super awesome! I love being barefooted, so these are quite comfortable. What’s more - I’m still having sciatic issues and have to be careful with my back, so I haven’t been able to do the jump back for burpees recently. With these shoes, I was able to do all of it and didn’t feel any pulling or warning twinges in my back!!

My hubby and I went to Fuddrucker last night.
I had a buffalo burger and he had a reg burger. Of course.. we got 🍟 , onion rings , and vanilla milkshake.
It’s been really loooong time that we ate there, it was actually good except fries and onion rings.
The last time was back in December of 2007.
It was two weeks after the chemo, my hairs were falling off like leaves from the tree.
So instead of getting sad, family and some of our friends went out for a dinner which was at Fuddrucker. That’s why I remembered the year. After the meal, we all came back and my hubby shaved my head.
I actually looked good w bald head.
Wow.. it’s been 11 years and I still can remembered my emotion.
I wasn’t sad anymore about my hairs .
I wasn’t sad anymore about cancer.
I was ready to take that journey.
I remembered telling myself that anything can happen to anybody. I don’t even have control my hair but God has. ✝️Luke 12:7
And the hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable than to God than a flock of sparrows.
It’s been 11 years and I am glad that this happened to me.
I was lost, confused, and depressed because I was trying my happiness through world .
Money doesn’t bring happiness.
Success doesn’t bring happiness.
But God brings happiness.
With God, everything is possible.
FYI.. I’ve been trying to memorize Bible verses.
Life is really sad when everything is about You.
Life is more than you but God and other people!

I really try not to cuss but I really wan to tell this to some people.
Me: 🤬🤬🤬🤬 what is so bad about your life?
You got a place to sleep.
You got a toilet that you can 💩. You got a smartphone n IPad.
You got a car.
You got a job.
And you got family that (maybe) loves you.
Ok... your dog(s) and cat(s) think that you are the greatest.
Stop complaining like a little whiny 2 years old , but grow up!
I love my mom but my mom loves to complain everything. So I asked her to stop complaining for one week. Just bite her lips and say nothing. If she has to, write down her complaining and read them two days later.
This goes to some of you too! Negative thought leads to more stress and anxiety. Since I asked her to do this,
I am gona stop complaining for one week too. Anybody want to do with me?

For last 3 days, I got texting and emails that some of my members either canceling or taking some time off from working out.
So this is for you guys. “how long does it take to lose muscle mass?”
❇️The answer is number 3.
First two weeks are ok. Sometime our body need break from training. Working out is overloading in our body that it’s ok to take one or two weeks off but you also have to be carful your calorie intake. Since you are not working out, you need to cut down on your food otherwise you will gain .5 to 1 lb per week. This is why it’s so easy to gain 2-4 lbs within a few months of not working out.
About 3 weeks into it, muscle starts to lose 5% strength. At the 4 week mark, you will lose about 10% of muscle mass. Ouch!!!
But there is a good news.
If you have been working out for a long time, then even it’s 3 weeks breaks, you can gain strength and muscle mass back fast.
And I have a bad news.
But if you just start working out less than a few months and stop, then you will have spend longer time to get it back to where you ended.
So my advise for anybody who is thinking some “time off”, ask yourself these questions.
1. How long am I gona take some time off?
2. What’s my calorie intake?
3. And why do I need “time off”?
Btw.. i am planning to take some time off next month.
Gotta recharge mind and body!

This is hard because we want to eat MORE and finish everything on the plate.
Whenever I go over my mom’s house for lunch, she gives a bowl of rice.
It should be about one cup and she always says same “it’s not much so finish it”. Me: I scoop out half and put it back to rice cooker.
Trust me.. portion control is hard when it comes to rice for me.
I have been in this industry long enough that i know what works.
70 % is diet
20% is exercise
10% is genetic
I see people getting bigger every year even they exercise.
Me: you can’t eat all you want and lose weight.
It’s like you spend all your paycheck every month and hoping that you have some money to spare. No!!
You need to spend less to save money.
You need to eat less to lose weight.
Practice self control in every aspect in your life. You won’t be struggling losing weight nor saving money. .

Another happy member.
She is 29 years but has rheumatoid arthritis.
After 9 months of enduring pain, she went to go and see the dr. And found out why.
Well... I am happy that she enjoys my class and I hope that she can continue her #healthyliving and nothing will stop her living her life.

I am about 6 months away turning 45 years old. I can’t believe that I’m now in my mid 40s. When I was in my 20s, I thought anybody above 40 are just old people. I’m in that old people category.
So whenever I tell people how OLD I’m currently... and “Jessica... you don’t look like your age... what’s your secret?”
Me: not having any kids ... jk
I was just joking so don’t take it seriously.
My secret is that I have a lot of healthy habits. I guess my healthy habits are integrated into my lifestyle that I live in #healthylifestyle
1. I eat healthy food the most of time.
2. I exercise/ work out.
3. I do strengthen weight training( good for women to have strong bones)
4. I drink water.
5. I meditate.
6. I pray.
7. I maintain healthy relationship with people I love.
8. I have a few good friends.
9. I stress Less.
10. I read Bible even it is one verse.
11. I express my gratitude to people who I care and love.
12. I surround myself with positive people .
13. I listen to my body. I don’t over do anything that I shouldn’t been doing.
14. I try to work less. Money comes and goes. I don’t want to work more just bc I want to buy more craps.
15. I go to bed early and get up early.
I can’t think anything else.
Our biological age is a number but we can’t help our aging body. It gets old everyday but we can help to slow down aging.
So these are “anti aging “ secrets. .

“I don’t want to get big so I’m lifting light”.
“I’m a woman that I should be lifting weight light”
“I’m so weak that I can only lift 3 lbs”
Me: 😡🤯🤔🤭 These are stupidest, dumbest and sexist reasons why you don’t want to lift weight heavy.
We all know that men are stronger than women. Just because, they have more muscle mass than women. But pound for pound, there is a much smaller difference in strength between in genders.
Yes... women are strong just like men. You see...
We have same muscle tissue regarding of gender that muscle responds to stimulation in the same way. It means that women can be will gain strength at the same rate as men.
From my own experience,
I didn’t know I was strong until I actually started taking lifting weight seriously. I was that woman grabbed 5 lbs for every muscle.
I didn’t even bother to grab anything heavier than 10lbs.
15 lbs felt 100 lbs.
It took me a couple years to GET that I can lift heavy and I am strong.
I like being strong.
I like getting strong.
I like working on to be strong.
Why do I like being strong?
Bc you can’t be a super hero if you are weak😍. I had to learn how to love myself, respect myself, and accept myself as who I was. And weight training did help me to open my eyes.
So ladies! Stop playing with baby 🍼 bottles and start lifting like a real woman!

@shes_kraftee made us two home signs last week.
@rubysmakeup_eyelashes brought her organic tomatoes and @liliana.mota gave me organic oranges.
It’s the thought that they have for me. @littlegazell got me a tank top too.
I am blessed to have these caring and loving people in my life.

One of my member send me this. She doesn’t do any social media so I won’t put her pic nor her name in here.
I want to tell you two things that important from this message.
1. You gotta eat protein!
2. When you feel depressed or in depression, plz get help from others.
My member has been with me on and off for last 6 years.
She finally came back to me in January but disappeared again. The day that I texted her that she was so depressed that she hadn’t been out of her bed for days.
I asked her to come to my house on following on sat which was April 7th, we walked and talked for two hours.
Sometimes all you need is a someone to listen.
Since then, she is getting better. She has a hard time in cardio class and I told her just to come on lifting days. Don’t put more stress than what you have. I told her that she needs to start adding more protein too and she listens!!
It’s been 3 months and she is in so much better mind of state. She has lost 13 lbs too. ❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️
Losing weight is not just losing number on the scale.
It is just more than working out and eating healthy.
It needs to start with working on your mental and spiritual first.
My suggestion for people who has been trying to lose weight, stop spending time and money to lose weight faster. Stop working on outside but start Working on inside first. Once you do that, the physical part start changing.

I really like this quote.
I’ve saying to this to myself as long as I remembered.
My current life is based on the choices I made throughout the years.
I made a lot of good choices and bad choices. One of my bad choice is to sell our first condo. Boy... if I kept that, it will be a good investment property. But I was young and didn’t want to take a risk.
It still makes me mad whenever I think about it.
The other hand,
One of my good choice is to own my business. I was a horrible employee who argued w the boss all the time. I just couldn’t take any order from any authority.
So owning my own is a great choice and i love what I do.
The point is that
If you don’t like where you are, make a choice.
If you don’t like your current job, find others(don’t quit first though).
If you are not happy in your relationship, and it’s not healthy one then you gona have to make a choice for your future.
If you are not content with your body, then do something about it. You bitching and complaining how whatever you are doesn’t do anything for you.
You always have a choice to make your life better or worse.
The only way you will find out is you to DO it. .

I post this question on #instgram story.
So far... I got 50/50. I will find out the result tomm this time.
I was reading the article about this topic and it kinda made me think about my life.
I feel “existing” when I get up and brushing my teeth at 4:10 am. I ask myself “didn’t I just do this like yesterday ?”
And after that I start preparing for today’s journey.
Now I’m living. I come to the studio, trying to teach my members how to squat properly, how to eat better, how to not to stress too much, and so on.
In a mean time, I check whether my members are ok, my parents are ok, my honey is ok, and also daydreaming about our next project.
I guess I am living during these hours.
And I go back to my exiting moment here and there through out the day.
But I notice that I get little sad feeling when I am in existing mode. I feel hopelessly. Everything feels like auto pilot. Then I listen my favorite music and start praying about everything what’s going on my head and my life. Then I am feeling “living “ again.
So my answer for this question is that I am living because I am exiting.
I remind myself every day that how blessed I am.
I have a roof over my head, food in my house, family , friends, freedom to read Bible and sing about it, clean water to drink and shower, and salvation for my next life.
Count your blessings when you feel existing.
You will feel “living”.

We have a very complicated relationship w food.
I know I did for long time.
Feeling guilty from eating junk food. Feeling guilty from eating too much food. Feeling shamed from not eating clean. Feeling scared to eat protein bc I thought it would make me fat. Feeling horrified to eat any starch carbs bc it will stay in my body and I will get fatter.
I used to eat less.
I used to eat small.
I used to spit out food.
I used to think about food all the time.
I used to over training after I eat. It was my way to torture my body bc I ate food.
I used to drink energy drink at 3pm everyday. ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️↕️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️ But I don’t do anymore.
I freed myself from diet.
I freed myself from food.
I started to eat more.
I started to have a better relationship with food.
I had to retrain myself that I can eat junk food.
I had to tell myself that I can eat a slice of cake and don’t have to spit it out.
After all.. it’s not the food put me a cage, but my idea of being of perfect eating.
I’m done trying to be perfect.
I walked away from the idea of being perfect.
My life is more than having a fit body nor eating clean.
Once I realized this, I feel free and I actually enjoy eating.
I hope you can find the peace with your food too!

I usually use the belt during my cardio day but I used if for upper body. My morning schedule is all packed that I can only lift this afternoon and I really don’t want to. So I wore #myzonebelt and lifted.
Lifting should Be 60-70% and some 80% and it really helped me to stay. I kept going below 60% that I had to stay up.

“ I stopped working out and my muscle turned into fat”. Me: 🤦🏻‍♀️ and I’m thinking( muscle doesn’t turn into fat nor fat doesn’t become muscle, they are completely different body structure).
So what is the correct answer...
✔️the correct answer is that fat is converted to carbon dioxide( CO2) and water (HO2). We exhale CO2 and H2O mixes into your circulation until it’s lost as urine or sweat. This is why you sweat or gotta go pee when you work out. So you literally breathe out your fat.
One more question ppl have is that when you lose weight, the size of fat cells decreases or gone.
It never goes away but it shrinks. But the body will try to regain the size back. It makes your more hungry. Have you noticed that the more you lose weight, the more you get hungry. Fat cells is bxxxx!! Luckily, exercise can help prevent those fat cells from getting bigger again, which explains why working out helps keep weight regain in check.
Your body needs to get used to with smaller fat cells and so as you.
So burn some calories and eat some protein!

You got a door and some bands at home; try these exercises.
I don’t really care for machines that I use free weights all the time.
I just started adding bands last year and I like them. It’s easier on my joints and I get some good burns too.
First video is upper body.
Second video is lower body.
I was playing around this morning at the studio. Still tired from yesterday so I took it easy with bands. It was hard to push myself but I did it. Any work out is better than no work out even it is 30 mins. .

1. Weight training is for men. This was the misconception that I believed. I realized that it’s not. Duh.. after all.. some of the famous hair stylists, designers, and chefs are men. So there is no such thing as that men lift and women run.
2. Lifting weight will make me buff. Duh... we don’t have enough Testosterone to get bigger. Women get up to 20 lbs muscle through out the years when men get up to 40 lbs. I’ve gained 10 lbs and I maxed out. So this myth I believed and I was wrong again.
3. I am too weak: ok... I didn’t know how strong I was but I do. We have this idea that women are weak. I don’t think so. We are strong as much as men are. So I was wrong again.
4. Lack of knowledge: I didn’t know how to lift, and why I had to do weight training until I started learning about it. The knowledge will get to place that you will never imagine. ✅The more muscle I have, the more I burn calories. ✅The muscle takes less space than fat that I look smaller. ✅The lesser the body fat,my six pack( it was hiding under blanket-my thick layer fat) will come out.

Ladies!! Don’t be scared to lift weight. Don’t be scared to work on everybody part. I hate when gals are only working on their butt and legs. And the worst part is that they can’t even lift heavy on squats nor deallift.
Strong upper will help you to do heavy lifting on legs.
we are on mid June.
You got half way to go before 2019 starts.
Set a goal.
Achieve that goal.

We all know that exercise is a good idea... but how about on a mental level? ✴️exercise connects body and mind. I feel my body and my mind are communicating.
When I don’t work out for more than three days, I can’t seem to figure out what I want. I get cranky. I get agitated. I get angry for no reason. But as soon as, I sweat from working out I feel better. It’s not easy to explain this to people who haven’t done exercise for years. They don’t remember what it feels like to be in communication with their body, so they don’t miss it...
✴️doing exercise means giving you time for yourself “me time “ : it’s time to step out from my reality. I really don’t think about my work, my issue, my worries. I’m busy working out. I’m counting reps. I’m thinking about my next move. Doing exercise is like an act of freedom, an update for my mental faculties, and meet -up with myself. I feel connection between me and my body. It’s not just exercise, but challenging me. To lift heavier than last time, to jump higher last time, to go faster last time. I feel freedom through challenge me mentally and physically. ✴️exercise will train to be more discipline in every aspect in your life. Exercise improves self control, self esteem, and self confident.
There are too many reasons why you should exercise.
It’s never late to start doing it. Stop wasting your life to start . Its time to step out and do it .

“I used to work out all the time. I had a six pack and I used to be so fit. Now... I don’t know 🤷🏼‍♀️ what happened to me. I lost interest working out and I hate how I look..my self esteem is so low too. I need help!”
If this is you, you are not the only one. I hear this all the time. They showed me the pics of themselves when they were fit and younger.
So don’t feel bad about what’s going on now.
You can have the body you had before but it will take little longer this time.
You are older than before.
You have a different lifestyle than before.
You need to be patience with your body and progress.
Then how can you find that love/ motivation/interest again?
1. Don’t start with 100 %. You don’t want to get overwhelmed. Instead of working out 5 days, start with 3 days. Your body needs to get used to work out.
Take it easy. Imagine that you starve for two days and you show up at buffet. If you eat all too much, you get stomachache. Same here too. You haven’t done for a while. Plz take it easy with your physical activity.
2. Write a fitness journal 📓. Write how you feel , what you did, and what you want to accomplish. Writing down your thoughts and plan helps to guide you to reach goals. I used to do this when I started taking #fitnessjourney seriously. I loved it. I wrote my goals and how I was going to do.
Plz don’t write this on your social media. This is very personal.
3. Let go of being perfect, let go of comparison but practicing be patience with your current body. I’m telling you. It’s easy when you are little younger than now.
Take one workout out of a time. Enjoy it! Kill it!
You will find that love and fire you had it before. .

Two famous people killed themselves last week.
As you can see money and fame don’t bring happy and joy. These two people left family especially their daughters behind. These kids won’t have any memories with them from here. It’s very sad.
I grew up in poor environment. We were poor in Korea and coming to this county was to make a better life for all of us. #ameicandream
We were still poor. My parents don’t speak English that they worked at the stores just making minimum wage. Our weekend special meal was Little Cesar pizza.
Maybe because we were so poor that I wanted to make a lot of money. I used to be so obsessed over money. It is one of core sin too. Being greedy with money. If I can make more money, if I can save more money, if I can find the way to make more money, I was chasing money.
I still didn’t make a lot money but growing money at saving account madd feel secure and happy. This was one of the reason that I used to fight with my hubby.I wanted to enjoy life just putting money on saving. My hubby was opposite. My favorite line was “we don’t have enough money so no”. I felt shame and remorse when I spend money.
I truly believed that money and wealthy will bring happiness.
But now.. thank God..I am a changed person. Money is good when it is spend In a right way. Money gives me a little easier life than before.
But money doesn’t bring happiness.
My happiness comes for the relationship with God( eternally) , contentment from my daily life, my family, and my friends.
Don’t get me wrong. I still work hard everyday but not just to make money. I only have 40 years left and I want to enjoy my life.
I have #hope that one day I will be in Heaven.
I have #faith that my Father is watching over me.
I have #love for people who is around me everyday.
This is pretty amazing life.
Life is hard but now I know how to make it better than before. Seriously I can’t wait to see what God has plan for me from here to end.

Not everybody from my studio wants to lose weight. I actually a lot of members are pretty thin and fit . Call it a good gene, fast metabolism.
Shila has been coming almost one year now.
She wanted to build strength and be strong. Well... she is in a right place which is my place @fitbodybyjessica .
She pushes herself without getting hurt. She doesn’t guess what weight she needs to lift. She is determined. She is always 10 mins early too. I love that she takes #fitness very seriously. She is vegan and she listens when I give her advice how to get more protein through her diet.

A friend that I used to know asked me why I was working out every day. I told her that I was working on my body to be a #fitbody.
She told me that I should work on my spiritual life every day bc it needs to grow just like my body. I told her I understand which means I understand but I am not sure whether I will do it or not. I understand her point. This conversation happened about 10 years ago. Now I understand what she meant. I am working on my mind, my thoughts, and my spiritual life everyday.
I have been reading Bible, meditating, and praying every morning between 4:45-5:10 am. It took me about 1 year to make it as my morning ritual but I’m doing it. I have to. I need to. It keeps me going, it keeps me motivating, it keeps me to focus on God not on earthly stuff.
So this morning, I challenge you guys to spend even it is one minute with God asking Him for strength and faith to keep fighting this spiritual war we are in. Amen!!

I joined Fit Body by Jessica on November 2015 with both my daughters to try to help each other stay motivated and continue with a fitness routine. My youngest daughter stopped going, but I continued attending classes 3-4 days a week with my oldest daughter. I have struggled to lose weight now that I'm much older. Since starting Fit Body by Jessica and following her healthy eating tips I was able to lose 25 lbs. My hard work has payed off. I'm now much more leaner and in the process I have gained muscle. Thank you Jessica for being such a great trainer.

What is your #fitnessgoals?
If your only goal is to lose weight then you need to make it more specific. Like losing 1 pound per week, lose 4 lbs by the end of month.
If you goal is to be more strong when you lift, then track your progress and increase weight every month.
If you goal is to make exercise as your a habit, then put it in your calendar which and what time you are going to exercise.
This pic was taken 3 years ago. I needed some pics for the business so I put myself on a diet for one month n trained really hard . It was hard to cut down calories down to 1200 calories at the last week but it was so worth it. I still use these pics for business.

June is around the corner and I would like to start “30 days food challenge”. We have done a lot of challenges focusing on weight loss but I want to take this challenge a different way. Let’s try to concentrate eating healthier and better for 30 days. When you cut down on junk food, high calories food, you will lose weight. Exercise is a must during this challenge.
Because we want to celebrate our body through exercising.
The weight in will be by Monday this Friday.
It is $25 to join the challenge and you will have a guide book by this Saturday.

So I finally got @myzonemoves heart rate monitor. OMG!! This toy made my cardio to next level. I worked out harder bc I was seeing where my heart rate zone was during the class. Of course.. I worked out hard and my members did too.
So I put a test. Fitbit or myzone. As you can see, myzone shows that I burned 564 calories and Fitbit shows that I burned 295 calories. Even during the class, my heart rate from both toys were completely different.
This heart rate monitor will be good for anybody who wants to take their exercise to the next level. I am going to use this whenever I am working out now.
So the price is $149 and Amazon sells for $134.

When I was in high school... I mean.. this is back in the 1990... I literally thought that I was so chunky( I was 110 lbs) that I started having eating disorder and body image issue. I knew that I shouldn’t eat any sweets. I didn’t eat meats until I started dating my hubby.
I was so scared to eat any high calories food and this continued for a long time. My weight was between 110-120 lbs throughout my 20-30s. Whenever I was at 120, I would go on diet and lose 10 lbs. Every year, My new year resolution was to lose 10 lbs for a long time.
My relationship with food got really bad when I finally had the body I wanted back in 2010. I became so obsessed having a lean body that I put myself a serious diet. No fruits, no starch carbs, no avocado, no nuts, no junk food, and no alcohol.
My goal was to have a lean six packs body 365 days so I ate clean as possible. Talk about... no life in here...
You might wonder whether I am still doing this diet.
NOPE 👎🏻 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻 I don’t believe in dieting.
I believe in eating all food.
Do I eat junk food?
Yes I do but in my term.
I don’t eat certain junk food bc I don’t have any desire for them.
My goal is to enjoy my life.
I don’t need to add more stress than I have to especially from food.
My advice for anybody who is going on diet, ask yourself “what is your goal?”.
If your goal is to lose weight before wedding, vacation, or whatever then go on a diet. Bc that’s your motive.
If your goal is to be healthy, then you need to have a better understanding w food.
Food is not the enemy after all. It’s You... have an issue with food. Think about it!

When I was 5th grade, I knew what I wanted to be. I wanted to be a business woman.
I was such a bossy kid and I hated taking order from anybody.
After high school and I was so confused about my future.
I dropped Cal Poly after a year later. I didn’t have any plan but I knew that school wasn’t going to do anything for me. Since then, I jumped and moved around job to job. Either I got fired or quit.
After jumping around jobs, my parents asked me to run their dry cleaners full time.
And the fun starts. Constant fighting with my mom( personality difference) , and fighting with customers( I was very angry person). However, I still ran their business until 2008. I spend 10 years running their business when I told them that I was done working for them. I wanted to do just work at a company that I didn’t have to worry about sales, bills, and customers.
So when I became a #personaltrainer, I got hired by 24 hours fitness and I thought this was the place I will stay until I retired. It is 10 mins away from my house. But this didn’t last either.
I finally had to accept that I am not meant to work for someone but ME.
So I opened my studio at 2013. I made a lot of mistakes through out the years but learned so much too. I opened the studio to give the members work out. I didn’t think I can push and challenge people. I didn’t know that I could motive people to be a better version of themselves. I was trying to figure out who I was. And I didn’t think that I could survive more than a year( lack of self confidence). But with all the love, support, and help from my members, i am still here, and we strong mentally and physically than ever. We create a little #fitnesscommunity that every member is committed to live #healthyliving #betterversionofthemselves

Jessica you're an amazing trainer! Your dedication to fitness and lifestyle shows it. You have pushed me in a great way. Before seeing you I never workout and always felt tired. My eating habits were horrible. When I joined your membership two years ago, I quickly learned how important a quality workout is and how eating right was essential to a healthy lifestyle. Now, I've become physically and mentally committed to living a healthy lifestyle. Thank you for the interesting topics you share in class as a group. Those topics ended up motivating me. Not only are you smart but you also have a passion to help people become a better person. I believe we all need to be mentally ready to be able to workout consistently. Jessica, you're great with encouraging your members to challenge themselves. My 1st challenge was to work out 4-5 days a week and I gained that goal! My 2nd challenge was to increase my push-ups and not use my knees. I gained that goal! My next challenge was to lift heavier weights. I started with using a 20 lbs kettlebell to stiff leg deadlift two years ago. Today, I can deadlift with a 100 lbs barbell some days at 110 lbs. I'm still shocked how strong I am getting. My ultimate goal is to deadlift my own weight. You showed me how crucial form is when lifting and to be patient because gaining muscle will take time. Now, I've learned how to workout every muscle by attending your classes. 
As far as eating I've learned to always read nutrition labels, weight my food and make sure I'm eating my protein. Now, I know how many calories I burn and how many calories to consume and never skip my daily protein intake so I can burn more fat and gain lean muscles. Thank you Jessica for making me aware of my body and keeping me motivated during class and outside of class. I'm thankful for meeting you and you've become a good lifetime friend.
