Handstands .. a journey I started quite a while ago and I'll be honest in saying, I didn't think it would be so long. I mean, I didnt expect to crow press in a day or anything, I did expect to continue learning about this pose for the rest of my yoga days, but I didn't realize subtle progress took so, so much work!
With that being said, I am so grateful for every part that I have experienced so far and definitely look forward to what's to come! Because I have earned it! These photos are 3 months shy of being 2 years apart.
The first photo was during my first round of my #100daygoals and my goal was to find hangtime. Not only was I able to go from 5 to 25+ seconds consistently, but I also learned many different presses in just 100 days of dedication and practice! It's amazing the things we are capable of when we actually focus our energy.
Now, nearly 2 years later, I really practice my handstands at least 3 days a week, but I pretty much throw up a handy daily. However, if you scroll through my feed, you wont find a decent shot of a #straightuphandstand. Why? Because I'm not proud of mine. Why? Because I neglect it. Why? Because I'm not happy with it. And that doesn't make any sense! I have to practice it to be proud of it! So here I am, doing my best to say goodbye to the #bananaback for good! Taking videos and pictures has helped me get where I am. I dont have time to find a studio, so my camera and my body are my best teachers right now. All I have to do to improve is show up and keep trying. It's that simple. Do you have a "forever" pose?
