A big victory for me. I’ve been on my vertigo meds daily this week. I started Monday very slow, had a sluggish week and ran Thursday night, yesterday morning and this morning. My goal was to do a nasal breathing run and not worry about my pace. So then Strava didn’t track my GPS properly and I had to map my route manually to see the distance. To my surprise it was 9k at a 5:46km pace. Although I mentally know I can run faster, I have to appreciate what I’ve accomplished. So, I realize it’s important not to compare myself to others although it’s hard, and stupid and vain. Just keep going. #findyourawesome
WHY DO WE PLACE SO MUCH PRESSURE ON OURSELVES
So we have just given birth...
And the thoughts trickle in...
As want to get back to where my body physically was 9 months ago...finally- I don't feel so exhausted walking up a flight of stairs so I can push a little further in each session. The memories come back as to what I was able to do...
Who knows why we place the pressure on ourselves to wipe the last 9 months in a physical sense and snap back but it is important to be reminded...
It took 9 months to grow the precious bundle so will take a minimum of 9 months to get back some status quo...we are getting blocks of about 1-2 hours sleep at a time- which doesn't allow for building and repair....if breastfeeding we are still giving from ourselves to nourish our babies...our hormones are still all over the place... we are starting the core essentially from scratch again...and so much more!!
We need to acknowledge the thoughts as new Mums we have and place them into the correct boxes and take the pressure off ourselves and enjoy the ride...and most importantly know you are not alone.
THINK WHAT YOU WANT.
KNOW WHAT YOU WANT.
ACT LIKE YOU ALREADY ARE! -
ACT LIKE YOU ALREADY HAVE WHAT YOU WANT! 🤪
TALK ABOUT WHAT YOU WANT!
WORK FOR WHAT YOU WANT and MAKE IT HAPPEN FOR YOU!
BELIEVE IN YOURSELF! -
YOU CAN POSSES ALL THE POTENTIAL but IF YOU DON’T WORK FOR WHA T YOU WANT THEN YOU’RE JUST A POTENTIAL.
WHY WOULD YOU JUST ONLY WANT TO BE POTENTIAL? EVERYONE HAS A POTENTIAL! -
YOU’RE BETTER THAN YOU THINK YOU ARE! -
First day of half term holidays and we’re having a super slow morning.
So slow that when I just made my superfood shake I was amazed by what a colour difference using almond milk rather than water had made (see pic 1).
Then I realised I hadn’t added the magic ingredient and my shake was just almond milk, spinach and flax seed ♀️
Super slow morning = super slow brain! Added in the magic ingredient and it’s looking much better (see pic 2). If you see me out and about today it might be best not to engage in conversation!
Mamas & mamas to be,listen up! YOU CANNOT AFFORD BEING WEAK! There,I said it.
These are not blisters (feel free to zoom in) due to weight training. I got them from carrying my baby in a CAR SEAT!
Now the thing is,our cherubs won’t be getting any lighter so you might want to start picking up heavy things before you become a mom. You might be even more challenged if you already have an older child who misses his mom and just wants you to pick him up and hold him.
Even though you are just healing after a birthing marathon, a C-section or if you are super (un)lucky , both, there won’t always be someone there to help you with the heavy lifting. While it is definitely not recommended to lift heavy stuff (or little people ) in the first weeks after giving birth, you will much less likely hurt yourself if your body is stronger and you know how to do it correctly (engaging your deep core and pelvic floor, while protecting your back and knees).
So this is just a friendly reminder to put yourself and your health first. Remember: HAPPY MOMMY,HAPPY BABY!
Good morning #saturday
Getting ready to lift some heavy things after reading a wonderful article in the latest @loseitmag It's been a while
This is #superdad post workout coconut #proats topped with all the carbs. A mountain of glossy One-ingredient peanut butter, fresh pear and banana, homemade low carb granola, activated almonds, gogi berries and cinnamon. Obviously not following a #ketogenicdiet
I'm keeping my carbs to a minimum today seeing as we are attending a birthday dinner tonight. I will be eating mostly fat and protein throughout the day and plan to eat a ginormous salad and green veggies with meat tonight Wish me luck! I will also be packing a sneaky chunk of 90% dark choccie just in case I experience a bit of #fomo during dessert

No, but really! Taking care of you can be totally fun! It’s not a burden; it’s a freaking gift that you can rock and give yourself every day! Don’t know how.....LET ME HELP!!!!
Oh, I know....those at home workouts don’t work!!!!!
I call total BS on that one!!!!
This girl right here would not be sharing this gift with you a year ago! Certainly not a workout video with those roots!♀️
Saying YES to this journey gave US me back.
This happened earlier today than I thought b/c hubby took the kiddos outside to play. The school Year is coming to a close, so this morning was busy=no workout. When you’re family is on board it helps! Doesn’t hurt when hubby sees what Autumn is doing for my booty!♀️♀️ Just being honest!@autumncalabrese@carldaikeler@race4fitness I am the happiest, strongest, and healthiest I’ve ever been b/c I didn’t give up until I found the answer. It changed my life in so many ways....it just might change yours too!
