If you can hold up your body you can hold up your life

All the push ups in my workout today were tough!

But I know that pushing through it is going to make me so much stronger than just physically.

I didn't want to workout
I didn't want to finish it
I didn't want to do cardio

I DID IT!

WHY??? Because the mentality I've developed to get my workout done, pushes me through anything that comes in life.

And I'm not quitting on myself, on my program or my team 👊🏼

TRANSFORMATION TUESDAY! On the left was exactly 3 months ago.. I took a year off lifting and was sitting at 150 lbs. On the right I'm sitting at 170lbs. I'm honestly surprised with my progress and proud that I've been working so hard towards it again. Both @n_freund and I have been back at it for 3 months and the results don't hide. Plenty more to come. Become a better you. The first step is getting back in that gym. Forcing yourself to do what you're weak at. KEEP GOING. .

Cardio vs Lifting Weights
I’ve recently realized how much I talk about this concept so I thought I’d like to share to those who are unaware of the benefits of lifting weights.
TLDR 😅
When relying on cardio (picture on the left, running + insanity everyday) it is harder to stay in a deficit of calories as cardio must be done everyday to hit goals. For most, this lifestyle is not maintainable and yields major disappointment when cardio is not done for the day. Even if weight goals are hit, there is no muscle to structure a foundation for a good physique.
When lifting weights, more muscle is formed which allows an individual to stay in a caloric deficit as muscle burns calories at rest. This is great for slimming down as muscle allows a more lenient lifestyle as staying in a deficit is much easier to accomplish.

Full shoulder workout:
1️⃣ Smith machine shoulder press 4x12
2️⃣Barbell upright rows 4x12
3️⃣ Dumbbell military press 15,10,12,5 (try to go up in weight each time)
4️⃣ Iso lateral raises (these are tricky so really pay attention! Arms stay at the lateral position when not being moved) 10x each arm STRAIGHT TO rep out as many regular lateral raises as you can! Really push!
5️⃣Plate front delt raises 4x12
6️⃣Single arm plate lateral raises 4x20 each arm .

BRACING FOR HEAVY MOVEMENTS

An extremely common source of back pain/injury is simply not bracing correctly.
When properly activated, the core forms a strong wall of muscle around our spine. The trick is in your breathing.

VALSALVA MANEUVER
Pull a big breath of air into your BELLY (not chest). Think of it as a bubble of air pulled into your stomach. Imagine pushing the air bubble down through the floor of your stomach as hard as you can. The lower portion stomach/abs should feel and look a bit inflated. At this point, you’ve created lots of intra-abdominal pressure.
We want to keep this pressure in our abdomen to keep the spine safe during a heavy lift.

At the top of the movement, pull your air in. Actively push the air down through the entire movement. Don’t exhale until you’ve finished an entire rep. Once you reach the top of the movement again, breathe and repeat.
