Through the trials & tribulations.. the pain.. the struggles...the injuries and downfalls. Remember where you started from and why you started in the first place. Acknowledge how far you've already come and through all adversity, you've always adjusted, persevered and overcame any obstacle that was in your way. A month away & I'm going through my 3rd surgery of my young life - both of my shoulders and now my entire knee (ACL, MCL & Meniscus) and I can't lose track of where I want to be and where I'm going. I'm prepping myself now for my long rehabilitation period ahead.. one small speed bump on the long road ahead. I'm ready to come back 10x's harder and stronger!

Free-styled it in the gym yesterday, was quite fun trying different things to hurt my shoulders! First let's start off by finding our Basal metabolic rate to find out how many calories we normally burn without any exercising ! Here we use the HARRIS BENEDICT EQUATION FORMULA ! Now multiply this with your activity rate as defined in the table above ! If you are unsure of your activity level, take the lower end ( the lesser number) for safety. Multiplying these will give your TOTAL CALORIES BURNT IN A DAY! 🕯️🕯️🕯️

Secondly, you then decipher your calories as per your goals and then comes setting up your macros ! Here, each GRAM of Protein or carbs = 4 calories, and each gram of Fats = 9 calories, that's where the division comes in during the calculation ! 😛😂💪

We shape our own destiny. Set our own goals (we even have UNCONSCIOUS GOALS, think about that one), create road maps, pursue your dreams. If I was a pure product of my circumstances statistically I’d be in jail, dead, or addicted to drugs. There’s not many people who can go through the struggles that I’ve endured and develop the strength and mentality that I have over the years. Now, I didn’t have it that bad, many people have had it way worse. Not one person actually knows about all the adversities I’ve been through because I don’t enjoy talking about them whatsoever. It’s why I go so hard in every aspect of my life, and I know my mom did the best job she could have done as a single teen mother with no high school diploma. You just have to take what life throws at you and do your best with it. I know people who had it way worse and ended up great strong people and people who were well off since birth and didn’t do sh*t with what was handed to them. No matter where you are in life it’s never too late to turn everything around by taking control of your life and your decisions. Don’t be a victim of your circumstances. You can do anything you set your mind to. Physically, mentally, financially, it’s all up to you.

What is it about going to the gym for the first time that’s so intimidating?🤔 It was only 2 years ago when I decided to let my at home subscription take a back seat and purchased a gym membership, but I still remember all of my emotions like it was yesterday.

The first few days I was nervous and super anxious, but now I know my gym like the back of my hand! Contrary to what you might think, the gym is fun! It provides a lot more tools for you to use in your workouts and I’d like to help you out by sharing some tips with you to feel more confident at the gym!

1️⃣ HAVE A ROUTINE - decide + plan your workout before entering the gym. When you’re warming up, scope out + visualize where your machines/weights are so you can go purposefully without feeling out of place.
.
2️⃣ BLINDERS ON - please repeat this to your self “no one is watching me.” It’s easy to become worried that others are watching, but I promise they’re not. It does help to wear a hat and put your headphones in. Only focus on yourself and your workout. This time is for YOU!

3️⃣ FIND A CORNER - piggybacking off of #2 it can also help if you find an area and stay there! Grab some dumbbells, resistance bands and whatever else you need and complete your whole workout in that area!

After rotating through different variations of pull-ups during back day, I’ve been looking for something new.🏆

Today I’ve started a new challenge. These pull-ups force you to keep your legs up, engaging your abs and hip flexors while working your back at the same time.

I’m hoping in 2 weeks we’ll be able to see an increase in reps with better form. Stay tuned to see the progress.👍🏼

One again.. It’s so easy to fall into the wrong version trap! Maybe it feels better then it looks. Therefore it can be really good to record when you are performing the exercises and see for yourself with another view!
GUYS.. I’m ooonly here to HELP ❤️
⚠️ These are tips for you guys to TRY out! Take control over the exercises and feel the muscles working!

1️⃣ TRICEPS PUSH DOWN 3 set x 10reps
🔻A common mistake is to lean over when the weights are too heavy. If doing the exercises correct, you can almost never lift the same weights!! Lower the weight and take control over the exercise. Keep elbow to the sides and put the arm forward.

2️⃣ BARBELL TRICEPS EXTENSION 3 set x 10reps
🔻When doing the exercises wrong you lose the tension and don’t get the fully extension in your triceps. We wanna do it RIGHT and hit those triceps real good! LOWER the weights and make the reps count!
⚠️ ADDING: Scull crushes/nose crushers is a different exercise! And you CAN do this one also.. BUT.. important to LEARN where you get FULLY extension and stretch in your triceps!! All good!?

3️⃣ TRICEPS BENCH DIPS 3 set x 10reps
🔻To make this exercise right, get in position, lower your shoulders, elbows in, keep your lower back against the bench and dip down tp 90 degrees.

4️⃣ BICEPS CURLS 3 set x 10reps /arm
🔻Most common mistakes is to have too heavy weights and SWING them up. Once again.. if you can make a light weight heavy, you’re on the right way! Lower the weights and take control over the exercise!

5️⃣ ONE ARM BICEPS CURL 3 set x 10reps /arm
🔻 Make the reps count! No half reps. Full extension in every curl! BE CAREFUL with locking your elbows out tho!

6️⃣ BARBELL BICEPS CURLS 3 set x 10reps
🔻 Again.. don’t lose the tension by thinking that more and fast reps is gonna build your arms.. ain’t gonna happen! Don’t SWING the weights! Take control over the exercise! Lower the weights and take control over the exercise.
