I found happiness when I stopped focusing on what my body looked like, and instead starting noticing what it can do. I stopped seeing food as something that scares me, and focused on it being a source of fuel.

If you want a plant to grow, it needs sunlight. Keeping it in the dark will just cause it to deform, shrivel, and eventually die. Depriving yourself is the exact same thing. Food is as beneficial to your body as sun is to a plant.

I’ve gone from one extreme to the other, to finally finding a balanced in between. One of the biggest things I’ve learnt so far throughout my journey is that body size means absolutely nothing if you’re not happy. I remember saying to myself when I was at my largest, β€œif I could just be skinny I’d be happy”. But when I got there, I wasn’t.

Happiness doesn’t depend on what you look like, you’ll never be satisfied. If you keep looking for external happiness, you’ll never find it. You need to find your happiness within. Find your balance, find your strength, find your happy. -

A little coaching session with Bella today 🀣. For those who don’t know her, she tore her back right ccl, the equivalent ACL in humans, when she was one. Then after a 3 month recovery she tore her back left ccl at two. The recovery period for this consistent of the dog being caged and immobile. This put Bella through a depression and it was very hard to train her. Now at 4 years old she’s healthy happy and trainable. She’s become a great dog with our consistency in walking her twice a day and working on her leash training!!! .

Training dogs makes me put patience into practice. Patience surely is a virtue and I will work hard every day to be patient with the ones I love, with myself, and with others. How can you work on patience today?

β€œWhat’s the fastest way I can lose fat?”
.
I receive this question frequently from various kinds of people looking for the right path to leaner, healthier, and happier lives.πŸ™πŸ»
.
First off I think it is important to understand that β€œfast fat loss” does not mean in one month you’ll be where you want to be. Just because you are disciplined for a few months does not mean you should expect drastic results. You have family events, birthdays, weekends, cravings etc that come along the journey that will need to be examined and processed through before you think you are going to lose all that fat in one go.
.
Now if you are starting off around 12-15% body fat, it is possible to get down to around 8-10% at a quicker pace then if you were around 17-20%+.
.
But the higher the BF% the easier it is to lose fat at the start, but as the process continues it becomes more and more difficult. At that point you have to ask yourself are the benefits worth the sacrifices to becoming the lean mean fighting machine (hug it out)
.
There is no point trying to reach a low body fat % if you aren’t willing to continue the lifestyle it took to get there. It’s a long term game, stop playing it with short term focus.
.
Key Notes: reach your protein goal everyday in a caloric deficit. Train your compound lifts 4-5 days a week (minimum in my opinion) and challenge yourself. Really push yourself, if you don’t like pain (good pain) or high physical stress then maybe you need to work on your MINDSETπŸ‘ŠπŸΌ (cus it’s weak)πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

One of the main reasons I love having videos taken of me while doing compound exercises, like the deadlift, is because there are too many elements involved in achieving the proper form and videos capture it all! -----------------------------------------------------------
One of my biggest issues I have with barbell deadlifts is having to do a lift from such a low bat position (~25% of my limb length), since I am 5'11 and kind of like a πŸ¦’πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ. For this reason I've been experimenting with the sumo deadlift, which allows me to have a greater range of motion with a wider stance. This will allow me to lift heavier with ease in comparison to a regular barbell deadlift. This has been my 3rd week utilizing this move and so far I'm loving it...just have to try to drop my butt lower at the start of the lift β¬‡οΈπŸ‹πŸ»β€β™€οΈ and I'll be A☝🏻! -----------------------------------------------------------
Exercise: sumo deadlift
Muscle group focus: hamstrings
Sets: 3-5
Repetitions: 10-12

Never in a million years did I ever think I’d want to see growth in my arms! I always thought skinner arms = better arms. Picking up some weights and adopting a better attitude towards food has done your girl some goood. Gotta lot of progress to be made, but I think in order to keep motivated, you gotta look back every once in a while and appreciate how far you’ve come.
