Q: “I ate way too much this weekend! How do I get back on track?!”
A: Hey! Don’t worry! This happens to all of us sometimes- including me! And if this happened to you this weekend, my number one tip would be to NOT beat yourself up about it! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There’s no need to make yourself feel like a “failure” or have a negative mindset simply because you enjoyed yourself and made memories with loved ones! Just accept you may feel bloated the next day or two, drink lots of water, eat a lot of veggies and it’ll pass! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Also: stay away from the scale! I personally rarely weigh myself! Why? Because the scale is just one measure of progress- it doesn’t take into account how you feel and how your clothes fit. remember it’s a just a number- and numbers don’t define you! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Life goes on & you can get back on track with just a few days of healthy nutrition & breaking a sweat in your normal exercise routine! I like to book myself a spin class - it holds me accountable to start my week off right & feeling like a badass after the class is done! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What’s something you do post vacation to get yourself back in your normal routine?
Yesterday was the end of Phase 2 of my program! I am so freaking happy with myself for sticking with these workouts even when i wanted to give up so badly. Today is a rest day and tomorrow i start crushing Phase 3. I have a whole new level of motivation and i can’t wait to see what my body is capable of in the next 5 weeks. Have a great Sunday everybody!
The plank is a foundational static movement that works almost your entire body and should be included in every workout program. Even though it seems really simple, many people actually do it with incorrect form!
You should not have a curved back. Your stomach should not be sinking towards the ground or butt up in the air
Keep your entire body in a straight line from toe to head by squeezing your glutes and core muscles
Shoulders falling in towards your neck
Retract scapula (the wing-like bone that controls elevation and depression of shoulders) and pull your shoulders away from the ears. Imagine holding a pencil between your scapulas.
Look straight down between your arms or towards toes.
Look slightly ahead, paint attention to keep a flat back.
Elbows (or hands for a straight arm plank) are placed in front or behind shoulders.
Hands, elbows, and shoulders should all be aligned in a straight line over each other.
Let me know in the comments if you have any plank form related questions or would like me to do a form post for another specific exercise

Body Image has always been a problem for me, not usually from what anyone ever told me, just from what's in my own head. I was either to thin, or to big, I only see the bad things about my body, after 34 years I'm starting to see the good things, slowly. I'm never going to be 'skinny'...but I'm strong. Feeling good in your own skin is the most valuable lesson you can learn and I'm slowly getting there.. #fitnotskinny#bodyimage#loveyourself#loveme#sorrynotsorry#strong
READING FOOD LABELS
So many of you avoid reading food labels because there is a general consensus that you need to be a scientist or nutritionist to understand them. So I have 3 simple tips to make reading food labels easy. Keeping in mind that this is JUST to get an understanding of what the products is.
1.Check the serving size.
2.Look at the ‘sugars’ and understand that 4 grams = 1teaspoon.
3.Look at the ingredients. The largest ingredient is always the first one listed.
More importantly remember that real food doesn’t have a label.

I’m the happiest while running
13k run although it’s freaking hot again and I have a small problem with my foot at the moment But some days it’s the one thing I really need: a good long run.
And this was the longest run since my injury last year
