I happen to know the general zone in which my body weight lives because it's been the same for years. ▴
That being said - my exact numerical relationship with gravity (as @fashionfitnessfoodie aptly says) has little bearing on how I feel. I've looked and felt better at a higher weight than I originally imagined myself "happy" at. ▴
That's because it's largely an arbitrary number. We pick the "goal" on the scale because it's where we think we should be. Where we'll finally be happy. Where society tells us we must live before we're allowed to feel good about ourselves. ▴
But I'm here to tell you - you can lose the weight and still be unsatisfied. Will the last 3, 5, 10 lbs really make all the difference, when you've already lost (or gained) 20, 40, 60+? ▴
The best thing I did was remove myself from thinking the scale held some mystical power over my happiness. It doesn't. It can't determine my self worth, or yours. ▴
Think instead of how far you've come.
How you feel. What you contribute. What you can DO.
Now that - that's worth knowing. ✧
