🔴WHAT PROTEIN SHAKES ARE AND ARE NOT🔴

🤓This is a good one and a very important one too so lean in close. I know I'm gonna have some people disagree with me on this but please read to the end first.

😕There's this notion in a lot of people's minds that protein shakes are a magical potion designed to build loads of muscle in super quick time. -
🤤On the flip side of that, there's some people that think they're a growth hormone producing steroid and that they're gonna do nothing for you but destroy your kidneys.

😄None of that is true. All protein shakes are are a quick and fairly cheap source of fast digesting protein. That's it. Protein - the same that's in eggs or chicken or fish. -
🤓They're an addition to a well balanced diet to make sure you're getting adequate protein to meet your goals every day whether that building muscle or burning fat. -
😋Protein shakes are perfectly safe when used correctly as part of an appropriate nutrition and training program. They won't turn you into He-man or make you beach ready in a week. They're simply a tool and should be treated as such.

Just a quick one before I leave for the gym. I'm asked daily whether cardio or weights is better, and the truth is that both play a part in your fitness and/or weight loss journey. They both have great benefits for your health that will have you looking and feeling fab!

How much you do of each will depend on your specific goals but as a guideline cardio is great to help boost your calorie deficit if you are trying to lose weight, it improves blood flow, reduces stress and releases those feel good endorphins. Only ‘downside’ is it won’t enhance your shape or give you firm, toned look and feel.
Weights (if you know me you know I LOVE lifting weights) helps build sexy muscle/ tone up, give your body shape that cardio alone cannot do. You'll burn calories after lifting weights even at rest (perfect for fat loss). You'll notice the difference in your strength, shape, and overall confidence so don't be afraid to lift those weights! The endorphin release is great and last but not least it helps improve your posture.

So there you have it - a combination of cardio and weights are both equally important.

Today was back day. So important to train your back! Having a strong back takes pressure off your spine & can reduce back pain & issues, it helps your posture & looks sexy AF! 2 days of keto🙈I've done enough bashing of this diet and as of some recent discoveries I have decided to try it out.

Funny thing is because fat has 9 calories per gram compared to protein and carbs 4 calories per gram I'm full wayyyyy longer and I feel great even though day one was a tiny bit rough starting out.

Keto tip.
If you're starting to do keto, don't fast in those first 3 weeks. It'll make it a little more intense. The goal is to stick with it not fall off lol

2. Pecans are great!!! 3. Coconut oil is a good oil to use as fat

4. If you're doing keto vegetarian like I have done, hit up those egg whites. I'd love to go full vegan some day

5. Do not go and try keto while you're going through. Lot of stress or life changes. This will take soem effort and it with me easy. So wait till things calm down so your body can change and properly adjust

6. Sleep
Get some fucking sleep, 7 to 8 hours period

7. If you sat red meat, grass fed beef, it's got 11 grams fat per serving and 22 grams protein per serving.

At 1900 I'm roughly about
141grams fat
151grams protein
20 grams carbs from veggies

All my clothes folded and assembled into stacks of work outfits and workout outfits, ready to blindly grab off the closet shelf every morning. 😴 Pants, shirt, underwear, bra, socks, repeat. I gotta say, I’ve nailed this whole morning routine / efficiency thing. What do you do to make sure you’re setting yourself up for a successful day?

This video is a follow up from last week about #dynamicwarmups 🤸🏼‍♀️ Today’s video is more lower body focused with some added rotation through the spine (always a good thing). If you are tight through your hips & the muscles of that area; glutes, hip flexors and hamstrings to name a few, you could be restricted in your range of movement (making movements harder) & be more prone to injury. Like I said last week, dynamic stretching should be done prior to exercise 💪🏼
1. Low lying lunge; is a great movement because you stretch out through the hips & glutes as well as get some rotation through the spine 👍🏻
2. Glute abduction; isn’t a big movement but rather moving your leg out to the side, keeping your torso still, the movement comes from the glutes not the body 👍🏻
3. Rotating toe touches; again some movement through the spine and legs, you will feel a stretch in your adductors (inner thigh)
4. Squat hold; a wonderful drill but often quite difficult for people as it requires you to hold the squat for at least 10 secs, while pushing your knees out with straight arms, keeping your chest up and shoulder blades pulled back and down, just holding that will be a whole lot of uncomfortable (but GREAT) 😬👍🏻

WHAT TO DO AFTER A BACK TWEAK!

What’s up Achievers?! @jasonlpak here to talk about what to do when you tweak your back! So often we see people going into aggressive flexion, extension, and rotation after they tweak their backs, thinking it will help them loosen up. But the reality is this excessive and haphazard movement often causes more irritation and damage than good.

In this video, we show four different things to do when you tweak your back that will help you regain mobility and strength!

1️⃣Deep belly breathing with feet elevated. Elevating your feet helps you to get your rib cage and diaphragm in a good position. From there, inhale deeply, trying to initiate the breath down in the belly, and allowing it to rise up into the chest, then exhale fully reversing that pattern.
2️⃣Cat/Cow. Be sure to move very gently through a range of motion that is comfortable and doesn’t cause pain.
3️⃣Rocking on all fours. Slowly sit your hips back toward your heels while maintaining a neutral spine.
4️⃣Supine marching. LEVEL ONE: lie on your back with your knees bent and feet flat. Press your lower back down toward the floor by depressing your rib cage. Without allowing your ribs to flare, slowly bring one knee in toward your chest, then return it to the floor and switch sides. LEVEL TWO: Lie on your back with your knees up at 90 degrees. Keep your ribs down and back flat to the floor, the slowly lower one heel to the ground, bring the leg back up and switch sides.

🚨I bet you the left side looks like the more common bicep curls you see at the gym am I right? They’re called “bicep” curls for a reason. You don’t want to be using your lower back or momentum to lift the weight. You might lift more but you’ll get less out of it. Do your reps nice and controlled. Don’t cheat your curls, cheat your...never mind.

For me, my attitude toward food on the day I return from a vacation or a couple days out of my routine can really make or break my progress for the week if I’m working on a fatloss goal!
