I love you so very much, Flagstaff. Thank you for calling me home. I love your like-minded locals who take care of alley cats, share their secret creek spots with other locals, garden their yards even in our tiny growing season, make & appreciate art, who overwhelmingly choose the humane position in politics, adopt dogs like crazy & take them absolutely everywhere & welcome them everywhere, & who have made me naive enough think all convenience stores have a bomb ass IPA selection. I love your mountain views that take my breath away every single day. I love your ponderosa pine forests. I love your old houses, country cottages, a frames, cabins, alllllll the quirky little mountain town homes. Even though it's seriously weirrrd at times, I do love the way everyone knows each other. I love every single day of your weather & the four very distinct & beautiful seasons you bless us with. I love your wildflower & monsoon season with every ounce of my soul. I love navigating both your old & new stretch of Route 66 on the daily. I love your downtown, especially on these quiet, sleepy mornings when the workers & all the locals heading off to work have it all themselves. I love your little coffee & tea shops & all your hole in the wall ethnic food, my god. I love the way that you are truly this nation's first STEM community, & that there are scientists galore walking around this town. Even though I can't stand the 10 different jesus stations on the radio, I live for your old classic rock/country station with the windows down on a country road. I love the way your women run around braless with no make up on, oh yes, that part makes me feel so very at home. Thanks for having us, Flagstaff.
